WIndrestrictor.com C7 power source

Has anyone connected their lighted restrictor to a 12volt source of power instead of using the battery pack on a convertible? Seems like there should be a source of 12v power behind the waterfall. Or maybe just run wire to trunk 12 volt cigarette lighter receptacle?
