OK, bare with me on this because I'm out of state and I'm getting this from my wife. She drove the car in town and stoped for an hour. She comes back and the car won't start. She gets a friend to drive her home. She goes back today and the doors are locked and she can't get in. She tries the key in the back and the deck lid won't open. I won't be home for two days. I don't really like the car parked where it is. What can I tell her to do? What Is the next step after the deck lid won't pop? (Even when I get home) Can I jump it from under the car somehow?
So she took the key out of the keypad and tried to manually open the liftgate and it didn't work? Or did she just try to use the push button by the license plate?
i will add, we have had trouble opening the deck lid by any means because it will just suck back down. But in this cas, there's no power, so how would it suck back down?
Wow, first time I’ve ever heard that. Maybe she’s not turning the key enough? It’s not the easiest turning lock. Unless someone repainted/repaired the back end of the car at some point and never reconnected the manual lock cylinder?
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but the battery is sealed in the trunk. I’m not sure how your jump it without opening the trunk.

I would see if she could get some help with maybe a stronger person/ male because sometimes those locks are very hard to turn. Good luck but I would try that first.
She doesn't have lots of strength, but she says the key can't really turn any further because the fob will hit the back of the car. She's going to try my key fob/key tomorrow. . I left it on my night stand.
It is possible to apply 12 volts to the battery terminal at the starter, but that will
involve jacking the car. Perhaps a tow company can come with a jack and
jumper box.

When the key is removed from the fob there are "now" two separate pieces. The fob in case - and the key. The key should insert deeply and then it takes a great effort to turn that key.... it's not common to think it won't turn. Try someone with stronger fingers.... the fob case should not be involved with this process.
After, a road trip I could not get the key to turn easily. I took some lubricant, put a dab on the key, inserted it, and it would turn. It did not open. I then pushed down on the trunk, while I turned the key. It opened!
When, I had it opened, I found a piece of foam had shifted in the trunk, and was pushing up against the truck lid, just enough that it would not open. Have her try that.
I recall when battery was dead with hatch locked. I immediately grabbed my fob and removed the fob key to pop open the trunk. The first time it worked as intended and another time was brutal trying to turn both keys and it was hit and miss.
I think that because those keys do not have a good grip and it is an awkward position inside a recessed crevice you must make sure that the key is pushed all the way in to turn it. I immediately thought that the location although hidden is not ideal to seating the key inside the lock while also turning the key simultaneously.
I then tried both keys again but it took a few tries and believe it’s because you have to get it pushed all the way in and keep it pushed all the way in while also turning the key.
The slight lost of pressure while turning could keep it from engaging and preventing from unlocking.
It is connected by a cable to a bunch of plastic parts which can deform under pressure. Make sure your key is fully engaged so it will turn in the cylinder. At that point, you just have to turn HARD sometimes to get it to work because you have to overcome the deflecting cable and deforming plastic parts.
The key design sucks since it’s difficult to jam tight with index finger and thumb and also turn a tight key.
The car is stranded in a parking lot and not everyone have AAA to call. Also, if the car is stranded you can’t take it to the dealer at the present moment. So what they’re trying to do was try to get the hatch open so that they can have access to the battery to try to get a jump.

Anyways, I said the fob hits the car, but she has the fob off and the "L" shape of the key will hit the car if she could turn it any more.
Today she tried my key and it didn't work either. She also tired to pry up on the lid while turning the key. She used a pry bar with a cloth so as not to scratch. Did not work. I asked if she tried pushing down while turning the key and she said that won't work. I'm not sure if she did it though. She is in a bad mood about the whole thing. So I will deal with it when I get home.
I will be home tomorrow, but maybe to late to get the Vette. I have a low floor jack I can bring to try do the jumper to the starter. Which side is the starter on?
In other news, you won't believe this. I just got to a hotel in SC and my driver's door locked by itself. It wouldn't open with my key. I had to open the pax side door and lean in to open the driver's door from the inside. Lol
(This is a Delorean, not a Vette)
Not sure what year you car is, but if still covered and installed on your phone have you tried "My Chevrolet" app on you smartphone to unlock the door? Available for 5 years after purchase date. (Assuming car battery is not dead)

Car is 2016, but obviously the battery is dead or the fobs would open it.
