How do you know the A/C Delco PF64 filter is Crap ?
The answer is they aren't crap. I owned/operated a chain of auto parts store for 16 years and probably sold millions of Fram, Wix and AC filters to DIYer's, repair shops, quick changes, car dealers, fleets and had VERY FEW issues with any of the three brands.
Of the very few issues most all were determine to be leaks associated with install error. It's ridiculous to believe IMO that GM would use a poor quality oil filter for their engines.
So my point is I don't pay any attention to the Wix is crap, Fram is crap, AC is crap INTERNET bullshit as you will be fine using any of these filters as well as a number of other brands I could name.
I bet most of you have heard on the INTERNET how horrible Fram filters are, however that's the only oil filter I have ever used on my '96 Tacoma which has 415,000 trouble-free miles on it. Has never had an engine cover off including valve cover and will use less than a 1/4 quart of oil between 5000 mile oil changes.
Same here. I used the Mobil 1 filter the first time around, but the by-pass has been questioned, then moved onto the Wix for the last three oil changes.

I have not had any problems with the AC Delco filter, but may give the Wix filter a try when I change oil while putting the car away for the winter in a couple of months.
I don't really care where they're made. It's more about how they're made. The newer PF64s just look and feel really cheap. Makes you wonder what corners they're cutting on the parts you can't see.
I believe the concern here is about the 64 E, the plastic core. But even with that, GM gives me a 5yr warranty with the pf64 E on my 650hp motor. I’m not worried, but that’s just me

No such thing as a PF64 E. The plastic cage appeared after the 1st generation PF64s. No E suffix. Not saying they are better/worse than Wix, but they've performed very well on millions of cars and trucks.
BTW, the only documented engine failure on a C7 attributed to the oil filter was using the metal core 1st generation PF64.
