Default Winter storage without coolant...

I've been using a 70/30 coolant mixture for my track days... Winter is approaching and I cannot leave that mixture in as up here in Wisconsin, and an unheated garage, the car will be below freezing for months.

So, the question, can I store the car without coolant / anything, will that have any adverse effect, or should just go ahead and put the proper 50/50 mixture in, or at least 60/40?

Difficult to drain the block completely. Easiest thing to do is drain the rad only, fill with straight Dexcool, start it up and run at full temp so it mixes. That should get you to a good mixture if you started with 70/30.

I wouldn't store it without any coolant even with draining the coolant as you will not be able to get it out all out of the block. If it freezes it will push a freeze plug out and at worst crack the block. Put coolant in it and use a tester to test to what degree it will hold to.

Just put it back like it belongs before stowing it.

I would drain what is currently in the system and replace it with a proper mixture of DexCool and water.

Thanks all! Guess I'll store it with coolant in it...
