I have found wet to handle bums better than tour. ECU doesn't allow cruise control in wet or I would use it on all long trips. It's quite good around town town, try it.
I am normally in Sport mode 99% of the time (vs. tour or economy).
Are you referring to which traction control mode you mean? Actually, I don't even know which mode I left it in. haha I'll have to check. I think it's in Sport 1.

Track mode is meant for race tracks, its very stiff on purpose to keep the car planted during hard cornering. And it works great. This mode was never meant for normal street driving. If you want re-gain the throttle response of track mode there are some aftermarket throttle controllers you might look into.

PTM modes are separate and require you to be in Track mode first. These are not meant for the street either as they loosen up the traction control parameters.

You need to read your Owners Manual. The C7 isn't a car that you can just hop into and assume is like every other car you have driven. Focus on these pages in your 2017 OM: Page 199 through Page 208 with particular focus on pages 206 and 207.

Just turning the **** to Track Mode puts the car in an undefined mode. Once in Track Mode you need to push the center button twice which will bring up a selection on the DIC. You turn the **** to choose whether you want Wet, Dry, Sport 1, Sport 2 or Race. The Sport 1 and 2 settings have nothing to do with the Sport Mode setting. Once you have chosen one of the sub modes you don't touch the dial or the center button again.

I track my car so I use the Track Modes when at the track and use Weather, Eco or Tour Modes on the street. Sport mode is uninteresting at best.

On the street track mode is like riding in a lumber wagon, the suspension is very stiff and you will get a lot of vibration while the steering is hard to turn. On the track at speed with one of the track sub-modes chosen the suspension doesn't feel all that stiff since there is plenty of force to compress it and the steering feels light, tight and predictable.

Here is a video from my PDR three years ago at VIR when I was chasing a Ford GT around the track. As seen at the bottom of the screen I had chosen Track Mode/Sport 1. There was an issue with the video connector at the camera so the picture drops out every now and then but the data stream contained in the MP4 file is unbroken.

That video shows what the Z06 is made for.

Its not an undefined mode, its just plain Jane track mode without any of the PTM enhancements.

I think of it as Track Mode 1.0 while entering PTM is Track Mode 2.0, followed by 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and so on as each level fine tunes various aspects.

For the OP here are the drive modes and what changes with each:

And here are the Performance Traction Modes or PTM that become available once you select Track Mode and double tap the traction button to access the sub modes:
