On the Chevron website below, they say the following:
>>use Techron Concentrate Plus, Complete Fuel System Cleaner, every 3,000 miles (4,800 km) or at scheduled oil change intervals, NOT TO EXCEED TWICE PER OIL CHANGE.<<
I was surprised to read this, and it suggests that the product degrades the oil in some way. I have an inquiry in to Chevron requesting further information, but have not yet received a response. In the meantime, I plan to use Techron only during my last tank of gas prior to an oil change.
The product doesn't effect the oil. It means don't use more than twice between oil changes. So if you change oil at 7500 miles only use product twice during this time. However the link also says to go at least 3000 miles between treatments. Just use top tier gas then you don't have to worry about it.

I use a bottle in the gas tank about once a year as I do not put a lot of miles on my car - figure it doesn’t hurt anything and catch Techron on sale and it is not expensive.
Another way to waste your money and think you are doing something that is actually needed.
Pretty much unless they can prove that it does work better with than without. Otherwise, sell it cheaper and idiots will line up for it and say "With it so cheap, what have I got to lose?" and buy the snake oils.
A few years ago my C5's gas gauge started acting funny-not registering correctly. I heard on the forum that it may have been caused by sulfur deposits on the float; I started using Techron at my fill ups and the problem went away in a few weeks. I then used it a couple of times a year and never had the problem again. I kept the car for about 5 years after that.
Techron can fix, and perhaps prevent the sulphur corrosion issue of the gas tank fuel level sensors. This problem dates back to the C5, and apparently the C7 still has the same issue.
It fixed my C5 fuel level issues. I use Techron in my C7 when I store it for the winter, to hopefully prevent this problem.
Some Techron (and gasoline) gets into the lubrication oil, hence the warning not to use more than twice between oil changes.

Ever ask why they put out a product with no tests done at a laboratory using generally acceptable testing methods? How did they know it works if they did not test it? If they did, why did they not publish it so we can see the methodology? My guess is you sell it cheap enough that you can lower the expectations and the buyers feel happy if something positive happens and if not, they do not expect much since they didn't lose much.
