I have been looking at the C7 used car market and come to the conclusion that I won't be buying one..the prices people are asking are just insane,50 or $60,000+ for a 2015 2016 Z51? Not happening, when I bought my 2005 C6 Z51 with 26,000 miles it was 7 years old,the MSRP on the car new was $53,000 and I got it for $21,500 I thought that was reasonable but people today damn near paying for a 6 or 7 year old car new car price..thats just nuts.
What's your thoughts?
The important thing is to NOT look at MSRP from when they were new. I'm getting ready to buy a 2016 or 2017 and while the prices look a little high, it's across the board.
You're not getting ripped off if you buy one that's in line with everything else out there. I've seen some that are ridiculous, and I just stay away from them, like the 2016 2LT Stingray Z51 I saw for $67k.
Would I buy a C8 for the same money, sure. But I want a new toy now, not a year from now.

Just the way the market is these days. With the shortage of new cars from every manufacturer, used car prices have spiked and yes, you will be paying a premium for a car if you need one. I do not see prices dropping back down to what may be considered normal levels until the chip and other supply issues get resolved, production ramps up and dealers lots once again contain adequate new car inventory for buyers.
If you do not want to pay the inflated prices, there is someone that will.

I will wait..the car is not something I just need to have..I will let others get fleeced,In my 50 year history of car buying I have NEVER paid MSRP for any car and certainly not one thats 6 or 7 years old thats just foolish.

Good luck on your C7 endeavor I hope you find a nice one!
As mentioned it is not a good time to be a buyer of any car with the inflated prices. But it is what it is and if you want to play you will have to pay. Very simple.
You will be waiting a while, the prices your looking for will not are happening for some time. Market is going to correct, but to bottom out with how your speaking will be quite a while.

With the current politicians in DC, they are willing to let energy prices rise until their “green dream” looks good to the public.
This doesn’t bode well for gas prices.
That said, Corvettes aren’t going to drop in price for the foreseeable future as this could be the beginning ofthe end for high power gasoline sports cars.
You need to decide if it will be “I wish I had bought a Corvette or I am glad I bought a Vette” in the future.
As for pricing, Carmax offered me $51,300 for my 2016 Z51 loaded coupe with 20,200 miles on it last week.
I won’t sell since there are few M7 loaded cars for sale.
Only you can decide what is best for you.
Thats a nice one but he doesn't say mileage or price.
It's got 20k miles on it.
It's more than I was looking to spend, but probably on the lower side of what's considered average right now. I have not finished negotiating yet. Going to see what's the best bumper to bumper I can add to it before I sign on the dotted line.
Already have a lifetime powertrain warranty thrown in.
I just picked up a 2018 GS Watkins glen grey 7sp man 17k miles still factory warranty 64k did i over pay maybe do I care no I wanted it so I bought it. I sold my 2013 GS vert a week before I have absolutely no buyers remorse love the car I say if you want it buy or someone else will.
The C7s are quite valuable now. Glad I bought when I did.
I couldn't see selling mine for less than $70K. 2017 3LT M7 Vert FE2 MSRC 8K miles. GM Extended Warranty Protection Plan $0 deductible til December 2027 in effect.

Interesting youtube video on corvette blogger yesterday pretty much details todays C7 pricing
Anything can change but it looks like C7s will remain high for the foreseeable future.

Good, hopefully, they'll still be high when I'm ready to trade mine in for a C8.
