Did they remove the tire off the wheel and check inside for a small nail? I had a tire that would leak down but no bubbles when under water. They had to remove the tire to find the nail that was causing the leak. Discount Tire.
Anyone familiar with "pitting" on the chrome wheel?
Thanks for the recommendation
Although I have no experience with OEM, I just replaced a set of Factory Reproductions chrome wheels on my 2017. The chrome was peeling under the bead causing a leak. First one wheel leaked, then by this year three of them were leaking. After having two of them temporarily repaired by my tire shop, I decided replacement was the only option. For whatever its worth even though they were still under warranty Factory Reproductions refused to honor it.
Both my original tire shop and a new one I found that has a Hunter Revolution changer have said they are very familiar with this type of leak on factory and aftermarket chrome wheels. No more chrome for me!
Decided to get C7 Zo6 style repro chrome wheels. Southern Car Parts are $300 less than House of Wheels but I'm concerned about Southern service. Any feedback for me???
Thats good news. We once had a Regal GS with chrome 20s. The Brembo dust was a nightmare on the rims. Had to clean them all the time to prevent pitting (which still happened).
I had the same problem with chrome wheels and found a machine shop I took the wheel to and put it on lathe to remove the damaged chrome around the bead.

It worked, and never leaked again.
That's a good idea. I'll have to keep it in mind if/when it happens to me.
