Ok folks I have a 2017 C7 Stingray convertible, and have been considering an upgrade to a 2019. I know I can get more now for my trade now but I also know that what I end up buying now will cost more. I don't want to get into a C8 but I'm not sure upgrading my skinny car is worth it lol?? I know bottom line it's my decision but any good reasons to talk me off the bridge lol...
I went from a 16 Stingray A8 to a 15 Z06 M7 and have not regretted it. I enjoy rowing through the gears on my little trips and like the looks of the wide body and the hood, the vents on front fenders and rear quarters, and even though I really don't get in it all that much and while the 16 Stingray had plenty of power, the extra horsepower of the Z06 is really a pretty big difference. I am like you, the C8 doesn't interest me. Good Luck with your choice

I went from a 2015 Stingray M7 Convertible to a 2019 Z06 M7 Convertible. All I can say is wow it is like entering another world of performance. The Z06 is a beast and it does take some getting used to that 650 lbs of torque and 650 hp is no joke. The power is there but the traction is another challenge that you must learn to control. If you are looking for the ultimate in power and performance look no further than the Z06.
Your call like you said, but there is a considerable difference between the two cars, and I've never come across someone who upgraded to the Z and regretted it.
I too have no desire to buy a C8 (though I might be interested in a C8 Z06 if they're EVER sold without a markup...) and have thought about upgrading my 2017 Z51 7MT to a 2017-19 Z06 also with a manual. I understand the road you're contemplating.
The price delta for a similar year and mileage Z06 is about $25k-$30k. So you have to ask yourself whether or not that would feel like money well spent to you. You have to examine how you currently drive and use your car. You have to really think about why you're considering the upgrade. I do this at least once a month, and go as far as "shopping" for a Z06, but always come back go the conclusion that it would not be money well spent for me. I currently put around 4k miles per year on my car. I don't track my car (or street race). The extra power would be a lot of fun I'm sure...but $25k more fun? Ehhh...
I'm just not convinced it would be money well spent for my intended use. I'm happy with my car, and if I ever get rid of it for something +$25k more expensive, I feel like it won't be another C7 of any kind, as amazing as the Z06 is.
The Z06 comes with a plethora of upgrades. Compared to the 2019 Z51 3LT I owned I can name 30 things that are better in my Z06. Everything from the engine, widebody, and exhaust sound down to the stage 2 aero, wheels, larger tires, carbon ceramic brakes and everything else in between. The car needs nothing and that's what you are paying for.
All good points "vbb" and that's where I'm at. I have an automatic and want a manual and would really like all the extras you would pick up. HOWEVER my cheap side is saying do I really want to pay the extra $$$$ for that. On top of that my wife likes our Artic White Convertible lol...

The Z06 is a beast and has a lot of desirable upgrades over the base and GS models. But I know for me it would be a hard decision on spending a lot of money for the Z compared to either keeping what I have or going with a C8.
A ZO6 would be a tremendous upgrade but your finances will determine if it's a good one for you. If you will squirm each time you write the check maybe not a good idea. One other option would be a GS. You get almost all the same stuff as the Z but keep the same engine. I believe the trans gearing is a little different compared to a base Stingray so you would pick up some straight line performance just not the huge increase as w/ a Z. The pricing is hard on the buying end but nice on the selling end. We just bought a new Honda SUV which I think was somewhat over priced. But we got $2k more for our 2011 Tacoma tradein than I expected based on looking at KBB and Edmunds a year ago.
