Default Cargo Area Threshhold

Not sure what to call it, but the threshhold/bulkhead that divides the cargo area from the passenger cabin (the one that's about 4" high, right behind the seats).
Is there an item that I can put on top of this to protect it, similar to the door sill covers on a C4?
Basically, I need something to protect the carpet when I'm hauling things like golf clubs.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

p.s. New here, and this is my first post...........so be nice. LOL.

Thanks. I saw those. It actually does the opposite of what I want because it reduces the amount of cargo space.

What about laying a piece of carpet or plastic floor runner on that area? I would by more concerned about damaging the back of the seats.

Put a blanket down in that area - it should keep any abrasions from happening.

Why not a WeatherTech cargo liner? It's very low profile and doesn't take up any additional room. That's what I'm using and couldn't be happier.

That "threshhold" (I just call it a bump) has been there since the C5 in 1997. We've put 250k miles on our C5/C6/C6/C7 during that time and never had any damage or unusual wear to that area, and we often go someplace for the winter with the trunk crammed absolutely full. We do take a little care if loading sharp or heavy objects onto the bump, but we're not obsessive about it.

If desired, you could cut a piece of heavy cloth long enough to cover the bump and still have a foot extra to stay underneath your trunk mat to hold it in place. Fold it under your trunk mat when not needed, unfold it out when desired.

Extra hint- if you're going to carry something in your trunk that might be damp or dirty, flip your trunk mat upside down (presuming the mat has a rubber backing like ours). When finished, take the mat out, clean if necessary, and reinstall when dry.

Welcome aboard, Enjoy the car!!!

P.S.
As mentioned above, our "bump" has never suffered from use but the cheesy plastic areas over the trunk wheel humps and seat backs looked bad after our first road trip. The C5 and C6 had carpet over that area and they still looked like new at 100k miles. If you can develop a cheap aftermarket carpet installation for that area, you could make some friends...
P.P.S
The area that does get scuffed up is the area behind the trunk opening + spoiler. Some people keep a proper size blanket back there to lay in place when loading/unloading suitcases, or there is/was an aftermarket "bumper bib" that clips inside the trunk rear wall, and you flip it out when needed. We've had them for 20 years and love 'em.

Thanks.
I was thinking about some material that I could tuck under the cargo mat, and then drape the other end in behind the seats.
I was just hoping for something a little more "professional" and sturdy. Maybe something with the Corvette logo on it.
Alas, it looks like I will have to settle (until I get my design patented :-) ).

We keep at least one spare towel in all our cars, to wrap fragile items, etc, Generally the towels are all grey because they were a "retired" set of bathroom towels. Works great for me, as I have a grey interior and it looks like you do too. You could drop the towel over the hump if you're carrying more than one bag of clubs. I seldom haul more than my own clubs, so I use the towel to wrap the open end of my golf bag, fitting the bag behind the wheel arches as Chevrolet suggests. That way the club heads don't mar the plastic pocket.

Simple enough to have a piece of light-weight aluminum bent to fit and painted... or, make a cover out of plywood and paint, or upholster. Either could just fit into place over the bump.

There use to be a very nice Cargo divider for the C6. It fit right over the divder and had 3 compartments. It may have been a GM product? I had one for my Z06. Not sure if same available C7?
