My '19 base came with black Z-51 rims, the '16 Z-51 came with chrome Z-51's so I ordered some black Z repro's for the '19 as I had swapped the tires/rims for the Black Hills rally. I'm thinking about putting new skins on the chrome set so I can switch things up once in awhile.
To me black or silver depends largely on the cars color.
They do look good on the white, so I will say that, but I also like black on white color combo more, so would be more inclined to say if they had been black would have been a slam dunk for me.
To those saying black wheels are a fad, well keep on believing that. Black is here to stay, and chrome is a thing of the past, and this is coming from someone who does not have black wheels on his vette

I wouldn't say chrome "is a thing of the past" as it still looks good on many cars. This is my '16 shortly after I got it home. Yes it now sports black rims but I liked it with both.
Silver looks great on a white Vette. Prefer black on most others including my Torch Red GS. As I've said before, chrome is so 20th century and looks good on most cars of that era.

Merely stating Chrome is not the fad it use to be. I have nothing against chrome, use to be into it when younger as well. The wheel market has just expanded extensively since those years is my point to which chrome is simply an option and not the go to any longer.
