In another thread it was determined that the wheels on our just-purchased 2015 Z51 are aftermarket. Would aftermarket wheels have whatever needed tire air pressure sensors already installed/attached when sold, or are those sensors able to be transferred from original wheels to the replacements?
The TPMS sensors do not come with the wheel. As long as they fit, they would be transferred from the old wheel to the new one. Looks like you have Factory Reproduction Z06 replica wheels. That is a nice wheel.
It could be either/or. Many people buy new TPMS when they buy new wheels, but some transfer their stock TPMS from the OEM wheels to their aftermarket wheel and tire setup. If the previous owner was going to separate the OEM wheels from the OEM tires anyway, it would make sense if he/she reused the stock ones.

I would say if the previous owner just transferred the tires from the old wheels to the new ones, chances are the sensors were transferred too. Hard to say for sure though.
I recently purchased TPMS sensors from Rock Auto to be installed on a new set of wheels. They were listed as OEM units. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that the valve stem nuts were not included.
I enquired at the local Chevrolet dealership and was told that it is true; the valve stem nuts are separate items. But they had none in stock. And a call to four other local dealerships produced no stock.
Interestingly, Rock Auto did not have a listing for the stem nuts at all.
In the end, Discount Tires saved the day. They had the valve stem nuts; otherwise, I'd be waiting longer to get some in.
If you do buy TPMS sensors, make sure you have the valve stem nuts, too.
Looks like my question was unintentionally misleading - I am getting pressure readings, no prob. My question was just to find out more about the sensors, just wondering if they came with new wheels or got transferred.

Appreciate all your replies.

They would not have "come with" the new wheels, no. They were either swapped and reused from the factory wheels or purchased new. The previous owner who replaced the wheels would likely be the only one to know.
