Default Oracle Side Lights

Hey All,
Yesterday I installed side marker LED lights from Oracle on my 2019 Stingray. They looked fantastic, all operating beautifully..... until this morning. I went out to the garage this morning to change out my diff fluid and when the job was completed, I took it for a quick spin and put it back in the garage. When I turned my headlights back on to check out my new Oracle lights, only the drivers side were operable. On the passenger side , no side markers , no tail light and no, what I assume are the day runners, working. I disconnected the negative battery cable and reconnected after 10-15 minutes. No change. I then checked my battery voltage with my OBD 2 meter and it read 12.1 volts (original battery). Anybody have a similar scenario with these lights? They look amazing when working correctly. But that didn't last very long. Battery maybe? I purchased these lights, although a little more costly, because they're made in the USA as opposed to.... elsewhere. I 've sent Oracle an email, awaiting a response. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks........Rich

Sorry to hear this. I'd put the stock ones back to be sure everything's ok.

Good idea to reinstall the OEM sidemarker lights to see if it is the lights or something else. While an added bit of work, at least it is not that hard to do. And you could just try the passenger side.

The BCM detected too much current thru that common 12V feed line, to those passenger side lights, and shut it off (electronic fuse).

C7's don't like disruption to their electronics. Many posts of issues following lighting changes. Oracle seems to have the least issues but it's not immune. Hopefully just a connection issue. Testing as indicated above should give you indications of next steps to resolve.

UPDATE:
I removed the Oracles, bench tested them to confirm there were no shorts in the units, and reinstalled originals. OEM's work as designed. Upon further inspection , I noticed that one of the pins ( there are 2. 1 lead, 1 ground) in each of the Oracle connectors is shorter than the other in each connector ( front and rear). They are the same length in the OEM light units. I decided to modify the shorter pin in each, reinstalled and now they work fine. Kind of strange that all pins aren't the same lengths, Hopefully they will continue to function as expected, but at least I know now, that the fault points more to the Oracle connectors as opposed to some electrical gremlin in my car. I'm still in contact with Oracle on the pin length issue. Thanks for your input ,guys.

Glad to hear that this had a material issue not electronics. Hopefully everything will keep working and Oracle can provide a reasonable explanation for this for every ones sake...

Absolutely. A step-by-step process of elimination and patience are critical when working on these vehicles. You know how finicky our Vettes can be! At least it's not as bad as when I had parts strewn all over the garage floor, putting my C4 back together (although I did love that car!).
Thanks. Rich

Hopefully you resolved the issue. They are known as a quality set of lights. I installed them in my wife's 19 Stingray last July and they have worked flawlessly. My wife purchased a set of them for me as a Christmas present for my 17 Z vert. I anticipate the same flawless operation. Like you, we went with Oracle because they are manufactured in the US.

Yes, they now seem to be working as designed. Great product, although, the Oracle rep did admit to me that the pins can be easily bent out of alignment upon installation. The pins don't seem to be as sturdy ( for lack of a better word) as the OEM's. At least I now know what was causing the initial malfunction. If it returns, I have a plan B modification that should also take care of it. Nice to hear that, like mine (2019 GS 2LT), your wife drives a C7 also. I created a monster!!

Keep an eye out for oracle coupons for their website. They have a ton of sales through out the year. I got 20% off mine when I got them.

Yes , I got the tinted, unpainted ones. They blend in very nicely with my paint , which is Watkins Glen Grey Metallic.. Be very careful when installing, as the Oracle pins can bend and get pushed in, quite easily. The OEM,s seem to be made a bit sturdier. You'll love the look, once completed ! Big difference.
