Got the latest (supposedly greatest) PN 12706595 at Wallyworld 2 weeks ago. $7.28. The box has markings in multiple languages and the English part claims "Product of U.S.A.". It's the same as the previous ones I got for the oil changes last August and November.
I think it is impossible to find the AC Delco "Professional" PF64 anymore. There are lots of places that picture it, Bezos, Fleabay, etc, but when they arrive they are cheap Chinese knock offs not as pictured. I had some where the rubber seal was not attached and just fell off. No boxes. In all cases, what I received did NOT have "Professional" on the label. I returned them and threw them out for non-returnable ones!
There was an episode of Engine Masters where they Dyno tested a whole bunch of oil filters. Bottom line - the K&N Gold was their top pick. That will be the next one I buy. I'm done with the hunt for the wonderful old PF64 real "Professional."
Good luck finding any new old stock "Professional".
I'm pretty sure AC Delco was not included in that TV program Engine Masters.

Actually, the did mention they tested a Delco, They did not show which model filter, or if it was the old style or the new one. They tested the Delco and they did say they were quite surprised that it better than they expected. But it ended up in the pack of low end performance on their dyno on that engine.

I got 2 PF64 12706595 from Rock Auto and is product of USA.
@wrecker3 Your filters as pictured look exactly like the "AC Delco GM Original Equipment Gold (Professional)" Oil Filters from RockAuto that I received unboxed in December 2021. Open Oil Filters from Rock Auto .
Did it concern you that your filters arrived from Rock Auto unboxed and otherwise unwrapped? At the time I was seriously concerned they were foreign knockoffs.
On the top of the can said "Product of the USA". I would think they get them cheaper by the unboxed case. I looked at Advance Auto Parts and the filter looked the same. I used this filter for all most a year have had no problems.
Rock Auto is just purchasing in 'bulk' for a reduced price. Nothing wrong with that as long as the filters aren't damaged/bent up from being shipped that way.
So I had not moved my car for 3 weeks, and when I did there was a 6 inch puddle of oil on the concrete. I got around to checking and the oil came from around the ACDelco PF64 #12696048 filter. The previous filters were ACDelco PF64 #12640445, which have never caused an issue. Not only is the "048" shorter, but the end caps and drain back valve is different than the "445". Also the "048" gasket is poorly secured, whereas the "445" is very secure. These came from a case I had ordered. So I guess I should use WIX XP or NAPPA Gold. It's really a bummer that GM/ACDelco does this. So pay close attention when you buy your filters. I have no idea what the Dealership does.

That being said, PF64 is used on millions of GM cars and trucks. Overall, the AC Delco/Champion filters have been considered well built. And if you look at bobistheoilguy.com, there have been a few issues with Wix lately. Wix is now part of Mann & Hummel, along with Purolator and Mobil 1 filters. And NAPA Golds are now made in China by Premium Guard.
Yeah....... even though this is a very old thread, it STILL seems like every year, I get a different part number for the PF 64 filter.
Today's filter just arrived with my 8 quarts of Super Car Mobil 1 0W 40 oil. Today's filter shows a part number 25206966. It also looks a bit concave by design on the side that goes to the engine compared to flat type on previous part numbers I've seen for the PF 64 AC Delco filter.
The past 3 years, I've bought oil from AutoZone buying the package deal that you got 5 quarts of Mobil 1 ESP X3 oil and a STP filter, which I return to the store. I can no longer find the deal, or even that specific oil at Auto Zone any longer, so I bought Mobil 1 SuperCar oil and the PF 64 filter from Rock Auto. Very good price for the oil and filter, but was surprised to see this "new to me" filter part number. Hadn't see this one before.
I know I'm replying to a two year old comment, but it's worth noting that just because different filters are made by the same company does not guarantee they will be identical. Champion Labs has always made many different name brand filters and many different versions of filters too. Some use regular cellulose media, some use a blended media, some use fully synthetic. Some might be wire backed, others are not. Some might have a higher burst strength than others. Some might have a cheaper nitrile anti drainback valve while others use silicone. And like any oil filter maker, they will always make an entry level oil filter that can be sold for very cheap and is used for quick lube places, etc. The AC Delco filters are not terrible, but there are definitely way better built filters out there that are way more efficient too. If you're only putting a couple of thousand miles on your Corvette a year and trade it in every 5-6 years, filtering efficiency isn't a concern. If you're like me and want to keep it for life and plan on putting 300k plus on it, then buy the best and most efficient filter you can find. For me, I use the Fram Endurance (which is actually identical to the Royal Purple filter but Walmart sells the Endurance for less $$)
It isn't as important WHAT filter you use, as the required 22 psi bypass spec. There are lots of super duper filters out there, but not all have 22 psi bypass. The FE12060 has the 22 psi I think.

You are exactly right, it does have the correct bypass setting of 22psi. When Fram first came out with the 12060 part numbers for their line of filters, it was because all of the filters ending in that number now had the 22psi bypass. The previously specified versions ended in the numbers 10060, and it had a lower bypass setting (only 12psi I believe)
For oil changes the local Chevy dealer uses UPF64R (12699847) ACDelco Ultraguard Gold.... expensive. Summit Auto price is over $12 apiece. $16 at Chevy parts counter. Relief valve open is 16 psi (according to Summit) so slightly lower than 12706595. Filtering and burst pressure is better.

Sorry,,,, but the ACDelco UPF64R is the wrong filter. It is the incorrect bypass PSI. This has been discussed here before.
Was this for me? I change my own oil, and have been using 12706595. I know a service rep at a local dealer.... just relating what they use for the C7's they service, with imput and backing from GM. Apparently this is common with dealers that sell and service Corvettes.

Yes, I know that many service departments use the wrong filter.

According to the sources I've seen, the UPF64R bypass opens at ~36 psi.
