That's a bad deal in my opinion. I think their ask on the GS is about $4k high, and their trade offer for yours is a bit low. When buying a car with a trade in, remember there are two deals that you're making at the same time. I think that it's at least $5k off from being a deal that I would make if I were you. The difference is $35k after taxes and fees and I'd be trying to get that under $30k.
How many other like new 2019 GS's are in your area? Prices on used cars are pretty crazy right now. I suggest getting real cash quotes on your trade from Carvanna, Zoom etc.
There are no deals on GS in my area and the ones I have looked at have been over priced. I know that when dealing with dealerships they are not your friend and they are out to get the most money they can. This was the first quote I had on this GS and I was thinking if I could get them to go 3000.00 lower it would be close and maybe I would do the deal. I have also had my car up for sale on car gurus for some time now but haven't had any luck. Don't know why but it's not selling. I do have it priced right and I'm not asking too much. I will try carvanna and zoom like you suggested. Thanks.

I have a 2019 GS 2LT with 2650 miles and the Vroom price last week was $68K just to give the op a idea. The Carvana price was $59.5K . Don't know why the big discrepancy.
I just paid less then that number for a Grand Sport 3LT, A8 Z07 package - 10k on the ticker with many many extras, extra targa top, complete carbon fiber all around.
I just looked up some 19' GS's and that price is better than most right now and also has much lower miles. You are basically getting a new car.. It's the trade-in value they are getting you on. I'd negotiate more for the trade. If they oblige and everything checks out and it's the one you really want, I say go for it.
It looks like Georgia does what TX does which is tax you on the difference of the trade/purchase. If you sell it yourself in TX, you need to get 6.25% more than the dealer offers to break even if you add in the dealer's tax advantage. So in your case it would be about 2600 in TX. I don't know the GA rates.
Go online and shop both cars and see what their asking price is. That's what I'd do. Last time I checked the 2019 GS 2LT's (with less than 7000 miles) were going for low $70's not sure about today. That's a very low mile GS and it's a 2019. The 2017, 2018 years with more miles obviously will be less.
Good Deal or Bad Deal ??? What do y'all think ????
Thanks in advance.
Tony, $73,000 is a tad high but the miles tightens that margin up. If you're not settling and that is the exact car you want I would pay that. If not keep shopping LOTS of Vette's on the market at that price and lower. Now not loving the trade which is where they are making their money. Enter your trade info on Carmax and Carvana, really easy and fast now. That will tell you what you have to negotiate or if you need to walk away. Good luck as you are getting a MUCH nicer and better car which you will love if the right deal can be worked out. Again very easy for us to say as we have no passion invested. I can tell you on my latest Vette I would not have listened to anymore. I was getting it no matter what. I'm glad I did. It worked out for me and I wish the best for you too. Keep us updated and post pics whenever you get your next Vette.
The problem with going with an online dealer is you're going to get a trade-in price. In the end it may not end up being any better of a deal than the dealer who's selling the GS. In fact, with the loss of trade in tax credit, it could be worse. You'd have to get a pretty good private party price, and then maybe the dealer will change the deal since they're not getting your trade-in. If it were me, and I loved that car, I would do it.

New car that is essentially out of B2B warranty ….just saying maybe find one with more miles and use the difference to purchase a warranty ???
The GS price seems on par considering the mileage but your trade in is low. If a Grand Sport is something you are interested in I'd sell your Stingray privately then look for a GS, this is probably worth about 5k more in your pocket.
If you can swing it and risk it financially, buy the 2019 now before you lose it. Then sell your C7 private party yourself. That 2019 might not last long if you don't move on it.

Totally agree, never buy a car with a trade in.....
Buy your car, and then sell your car separately. Even If it means sell to them, the prices of cars being bought from dealers to have something on the lot - they are paying more then normal trade in value.
Never ever put the 2 together !!!
Never been a fan of selling cars myself as it was always a PITA and never made much of a difference when factoring in the tax savings with a trade (not every state). Certainly shouldn't be an issue now as Carmax is giving more money on trades now than I've ever seen. I would get their value to see if you have a good deal. Either way you better move fast as Vettes aren't lasting long.
