Problem playing itunes through USB
I finished reading the owner's manual and infotainment manual this weekend, but I don't see an answer to this problem: When I have my iphone connected via the USB port in the center console, I can access the music library via the dashboard screen controls, and I can select a song to play, but when I push the 'play' button on the dash screen, the song won't play until I push the same 'play' button on my iphone screen. To confuse me a bit more, when I push 'play' on the dash, the button changes to it's 'pause' format (the two little vertical lines) which is what you normally see when a song is playing, but in my case, nothing plays, until as I mentioned, I push the iphone screen button.
What am I doing wrong?
TIA,
Larry

on the phone.
Carplay wasn’t available until 2016 which mimics the screen and allows controls from the display.
That was one of the reasons I specifically wanted a 2016 or newer when I bought my car 2 years ago.
You will never be able to access your iTunes directly as a USB music source.
You can use a downloaded App to convert the ITunes to MP3 format, put the MP3 songs on a memory-stick, then play as a USB music source.
That is what I did. I converted all CD's and itune songs from my brother to MP3 format. I now have 9Gig of music, over 1700 songs. I can add even more.
Good luck.

What is the name of the application you used to convert iTunes format to MP3 format?
