Default Tow hook question

I picked up a ZL1 Addicts featherweight tow hook for my 2017 Z06. It’s not threading. Has anyone else had tow hook issues. Here is a photo of the receiver. Suggestions?

I got the OEM TOw Hooks and the rear one would not feed. I put a dab of Lithium Grease on the threads and slowly screwed it in. I unscrewed the hook and wiped off the grease and tried again. That worked for me. I hope that helps!

I have read on here before, that the threads are on a bit of an angle.... Looks like he's angling up and flexing the grill a bit....

The Rear is easier

Default Try Cleaning the Threads

The forward facing receiver can pickup a lot of road debris.
Grab an old toothbrush, you may need to tape it to a small stick or rod, then spray it with some WD-40 or other light oil
Run the toothbrush around a little, clean it off and repeat until 4/5 years of crap is cleared out..
Depending on the brush, you may have to trim it a bit....

The hooks are good to have especially if you track the car
Let's hope you don't need them

The first time you install the tow hook it may be difficult to get the rod threaded into the receiver. The receiver threads have paint in them and the fit is very tight which means the rod has to be hitting the front edge of the receiver almost perfectly aligned. Off by even a small fraction and the rod won't thread into the receiver. The first time I did mine it took close to two hours to get the thing threaded into the front receiver. After the first time, it went in very easily.

Looks like there are no threads. Try the rear tow hook slot.
