Default First C7 and first problem

My 2016 Stingray center console cigarette lighter cover won't latch down. Stays open all the time. Is there a fix?
Thanking in advance

You have to remove console. I would suggest looking online like youtube to find a video of carbon fiber dash swap. In those videos they will show you steps as console is part of the steps. I will say if u have an automatic, the putting it in neutral and pulling sharply up can be a pain. First time I did it pulled too hard and spent the next half hour trying to find the little whit lenses for my shift indicators (lol) Pretty Easy, but do it in a warm environment as not to break any tabs. I would not attempt anything in a cold garage. I have a few pics below of mechanism.. the second pics shows the mechanism your looking for. It is a latch that catches when you close cover. I hope this points u in the right direction.

Thanks for the pics. Never having the console apart, it is kind of hard to visualize exactly what angle I am looking at, but still interesting to see what things look like under the cover.
