Default Question about cold start

I have a 2019 grandsport. My question is will a cold start sound louder between tour vs sport vs track mode? I left my car in sport mode and when I did a cold start, it sounded much louder than the tour mode.

I believe so, it seems for me i use tour mode to and from my house but when i left it in sport mode once it seemed slightly louder.
I would assume even with the cold starting and such the exhaust flaps still adjust for the mode selected.

Sport mode is always louder in the morning on a cold start - and I LOVE IT!! Just FYI if you shut down in track mode, it defaults to touring mode on restart.

I mostly drive my GS in Sport mode but for early morning starts I switch to Tour before starting to reduce the noise.

So --- yes it will be louder and sound better as long as you don't wake up your family or the neighbors.

LOL - Didn't realize there was a mode for street use besides Sport.

Good thing our neighbors are not close.

You can set the default exhaust to tour, sport or track through the driver information center. I leave mine in sport for the sound while setting the ride based on road conditions. I think the sound makes my neighbors jealous, they never say anything

My neighbor has a 2021 mustang and his car is loud upon start up. I love it when I do a cold start and it just cracks and snarls when started. Gotta make sure my mustang neighbor hears me. Lol

Any exhaust mode C7 is louder at start up, than when it's all warmed up. My non-NPP exhaust 2017 C7 is heard by my neighbor in a home 50 yards away. Complimented me on it. He's got a '65 327 c.i. Corvette, 427 c.i. '67 ElCamino, 426 c.i. '64 Plymouth Fury, and a '32 Duece Coupe with a 409 c.i. V8, so it's all music to ears here.👍 Also compliments me on my Ford 7.3 c.i. Powerstroke turbodiesel truck. Ha!

Have mine set to where it sounds great on startup. It is only loud for a little while - neighbors haven't complained, yet.

Why stop at Sport, crank it to "11" with Track Mode.

Cold starts will always be louder, the car is in Open Loop mode and during this 90 seconds of Open Loop the car is also using a double pulse spark map to try and burn off all of the fuel in the combustion chambers. This helps with start up emissions and helps the cats get up to temp faster. Goal is to have the car go from Open Loop to Closed Loop within 90 seconds of start up.

Mine is permanently set to track mode and when i start with a couple of days gap it sounds loud enough to make my neighbour across the street jump out of her shoes

I have our settings set to loud, and like to stand behind it while I use the remote start key.

Not if you use the center display to go to settings and set engine sound management to permanent track mode. Then it will stay in track mode all of the time except when the engine is operating in 4 cylinder mode or below 1500 rpm in 5th gear on an M7.
