Default A8 Shift issues from launch

Hey fellas,

After reading countless threads on A8 issues i've come to the conclusion it can be a very finicky beast. With that said, i've noted some things recently with my Vette that concerned me. Most importantly was this morning..

Here are the details:
Engine was completely warmed up
Trans maybe 100 if that
Traction control off- Stabilitrak on
Touring mode
Throttle controller set to Sport 4

I launched it and the tires lit up, i felt the rear sway to the right so i feathered it a little and once it shifted to 2nd it lose ALL momentum. The tires stopped spinning rpms went down and it continued on. I was expecting it to blitz to 2nd and keep spinning.

My thought is it did this for two reasons- 1. Stabilitrak was assisting and 2. the every so slight feathering of the throttle may have thrown the TCM for a loop and it cut power on the shift? I was certainly not WOT but not too far from it.

Anyone have any input? I'm also dealing with the 3-1 harsh down shift sometimes but i've come to the conclusion i need to take it to the dealer for them to review the TSB on that. (I hate the thought of taking it there because it's just one more opportunity for it to get damaged)

Happy Friday fellas.

My '19 Z51 A8 behaves the same way. I attribute this to fact that the ECM cuts the ignition for a few
milliseconds at every shift to reduce the load on the clutches. This is the reason for the "bark" on
full throttle upshifts as the unburned fuel in the exhaust manifolds ignites. It is also possible that
the ECM is programmed to reduce power for an upcoming shift when it "sees" the extreme
difference in wheel speed F to R even though traction control is off. Obviously GM wants to
keep as much of your warranty money as it can and does what it can to minimize power train
catastrophes.

What do you mean by Throttle Controller Set to Sport 4?

Sounds like an electronic management condition

on the Infiniti's, there are layers of electronic 'protection' that prevent you from doing certain things
