Default Soler Performance Throttle Body

I have a '15 ZO6 and suffer from the notorious throttle lag or delayed response especially at red lights, stop signs, etc. I read several articles on a ported throttle body that would improve the response. I decided to go with Soler Performance and proceeded to try an online order. They offered a discount code but when I tried to apply it to my order I was presented with an error message. I sent an email to Mike at Soler describing my issue and had a reply within an hour or so asking me to retry. My second attempt resulted in a different error message which I relayed back to Mike. Once again within a couple hours I was asked to try one more time and if it doesn't work Mike requested I call him. That attempt worked and my order was placed to port my existing throttle body and I also added a DLX throttle controller to my order. I sent Mike another email telling him the order was placed with no further issues. I removed my throttle body and sent it to Soler on Tuesday about 11:00 am. It was received Thursday at Soler. They worked their magic on it and sent it back to me Thursday afternoon. Now that's a short turn around time. The return was sent USPS and it took from Thursday to Tuesday to get back. Pony express had a better record than that lol. Today is Wednesday and I installed the throttle body, did the initial start, idle, stop, repeat cycle then went for a test drive. I have to honestly say it did not improve the throttle lag, it absolutely eliminated it!!!. If you are on the fence about if Soler's ported throttle body will help this issue, wonder no longer. It is the real deal and customer service can not be any better. We are under a winter storm warning for freezing rain, snow, wind, etc for the next 24 - 36 hrs so I will probably install the throttle controller tomorrow. I'm almost afraid to do it as well as the throttle body worked I'm almost afraid the throttle controller will be scary fast. Good thing it has so many settings to choose from (64). I'm confident I can tame it down until I get accustomed to the response it provides.
Great products at good prices. Bang for the buck this is hands down one of the best and customer service like I have never experienced. Hats off to Mike at soler. Thanks for all your help. I'll post a follow up after the weather breaks and I can get the car out.
Mike

Ditto the results and Mike's customer service.
The TC's lower settings are easily manageable, but the top end settings should be practiced on an open road with some space around. A buddy bought the TC, tried it on Ludicrous mode and color coded his underwear...

As long as it just color coded his draws and didn't burn a hole while doing the hash marks !
I am thinking of getting one for my 2019 GS.

Ditto results using Soler TB and TC. My Vette went from a tame saddle pony to a spirited bronco. I run the TC at SP5. Spirited but under control. And no more stalls at lights at stop signs. In fact you can start in first by letting out the clutch with no gas and it will glide in first gear smoothly. I opted for the new throttle body so I could return to stock if ever needed too.

Mike and his crew offer outstanding customer service. I installed the DLX Throttle Controller on my car a couple of months ago and could immediately notice an improvement in the car. I have the throttle body sitting in a box waiting to install - going to get that done by the time spring rolls around and it is time to take the car out of winter storage.

You are just up the road from me - hope the winter storm that is coming our way is not all that bad.

If the car has an aftermarket tune, is it still necessary to pair the throttle body with the throttle controller?

Just curious. Is this a simple bolt on and go, or do you have to do anything special after install?

Bolt on and go. Could tune if you want... but bolt and go still works.

I completely agree with the customer service of Mike. It's outstanding!

I originally did the bolt on with Halltech CAI. Completely impressed with the results.

Had the car tuned by Shane Hinds and was even more impressed.

Car has been shipped off for mods and look forward to the 103mm results that I purchased from Mike as well.

I've finished the install of both the PTB and the DLX controller. The day the controller was added brought about 8" of snow so no test drive yet. PTB was installed a day previous and the test drive for that produced amazing results.
I did not want my controller mounted anywhere visible but I did want it where I could easily access it so I sacrificed a cupholder and hid it there. I will attach a few pictures just to share ideas. I'm going to tweak the controller mount to something black and a bit more refined. All the material in these pictures was made from the packing materials the controller arrived in.

Clever idea. I never use the cup holders, great repurposing.

Depends on your tuner. When I tune cars I make sure my clients do not have any aftermarket controllers. For one they are known to cause flashing issues with HPTuners and secondly, I always reshape the driver demand in the tune which removed the pedal lag and makes the throttle more linear. You can't have both with my tunes. I suppose the advantage that the throttle controller has is the multiple different modes and Valet mode. But these are designed to work with a car that has OEM Driver Demand tables in the tune. If you pair that with a car that has tuned DD tables, you will likely get very weird behavior and check engine light as the car goes into reduced power mode.
