Default tow hooks

Any of you guys leave your tow hooks in at a car show when not attended. I was thinking someone could unscrew them in a few seconds and be off with them.

I would take them off before going to a show. They are tacky anywhere but on a track in any event.

I agree with Elk, in that they take away from the looks of a C7 as opposed to adding. At least IMO, however it's just a personnel preference thing.

Absolutely - if you like them, put them on and enjoy the look.

You can modify your foam cover in cargo area to hold them

Its a show and track time. I have had people at shows poo poo my car calling it "just a stingray" when infact its a z51, ie hooks are a giveaway.

How many people at a show do you think are going to be able to distinguish your C7 as a Z51 from a Stingray just because it has tow hooks? Answer: I doubt anyone will.

Besides, anyone who will poo poo on your C7 because it's 'just a Stingray' probably isn't going to feel any different just because it's a Z51.

Those who dismiss your Stingray are ignorant; they do not appreciate what a great car it is, Z51 or not.

As to your question as to whether someone might unscrew and run off with them, it is possible. Once in a while someone posts their hook(s) was stolen but it is uncommon.

Again, do what brings you maximum enjoyment of your car.

I'd leave them in. I've never thought twice about someone stealing them. Actually, I've never given it any thought. Tow hooks are fine as long as they are high quality and functional.

I agree with both your comments above. In addition, anyone just having a tow hook stolen is way ahead of the game IMO, as I've been robbed at gunpoint twice in my life and been stolen from every way under the sun when I owned my auto parts stores.

If the tow hooks are only installed for the car show, no big deal. If installed all the time, it’s not a look I care for.

Z51 is an option package on a Stingray, not a separate model between the Stingray and Z06. Most people can’t tell the difference by looking at them. Why do you care?

Yeah, there is that.

I think I’ll wear my fire suit and driving shoes to the next car show so people think I’m cool.

I’ll unscrew it, but won’t be off with it. Instead, I’ll neatly place it in your trunk, where it belongs.

I think the tow hook looks bad *** on the front of the Vette. I'd leave it on. I need to get some, but I want them in Yellow, which seems hard to find. My brother and I saw one on the front of a Z06 and he said what is that? I said a hook so the car can be towed.. He said, it looks cool.. I agreed.

Leaving tow hooks on are something Supra drivers do.
