New Battery
2018 GS. Dealer put in new battery. Car starts and runs fine.Got home, But now service light comes on and says low battery when starting. It keeps showing this with every start. Battery volt gauge shows between 14-15 volts. Is there some kind of computer reset the dealer should of made after installing new battery? Any help appreciated if don’t have to call or go back to dealer.

Go in and look at the negative lead on the battery. There should be a small black wire connected to the lead. If the wire is broken, this might be the cause of the low battery alert.

just checked…the wire was loose, not attached. I loosened terminal and stuck wire in next to terminal and post and retightened and no alert comes on! Thanks for help!!!

checked again , no wire, never wrecked, didn’t show “battery low” until I changed it. Don’t think it will hurt any thing , just got to keep up with the battery until I can trouble shoot it .

You have to have the little black wire that is connected to the negative terminal for proper charging.
You might have broken it off when you changed the battery.
Look for it and repair the connection.

So there is a warning when the battery is getting low. No?
According to this thread, the battery gives no warning and you can just be stranded the next.
