Wanted to use cruise control and found out it didn't work. Push the cruise button and the cruise lite shows up on the dash, hit the set button but the speed drops when I let up on the gas pedal. Tried several times and nothing was doing about 70mph at the time. Factory warranty runs out on the 23rd and the dealer can't get me in for almost 2 weeks. I do have an extended warranty with Chevy but it doesn't kick in for a month. Does it look like I am doing something wrong. It is a 2019 2lt Stingray with 6000 miles.
Took the car out today and read in the owners manual that the cc on the dash will be white until its ready to actually turn on cc and it will turn green. after hitting the button the cc on the dash turned white tried hitting the res+ button several times with no change. Then tried hitting the res- button about 10 times and the cc icon on the dash turned green and everything started working. There is a number that shows up by the cc icon when its green and I guess that is the speed number that the car will try to go to when the icon is green. It seems to work a little bit different than other cars i have driven but the good thing is its not broken.
The second button is SET-, not RES-, and is the button to SET the speed. You are correct that white indicates cruise control is enabled, green is the speed if set. From the 2017 owner's manual:
1 : Press to turn cruise control on or off. A white indicator comes on in the instrument cluster when cruise is turned on.
RES/+ : If there is a set speed inmemory, press briefly to resume to that speed or press and hold to accelerate. If cruise control is already active, use to increase vehicle speed.
SET/– : Press briefly to set the speed and activate cruise control. If cruise control is already active, use to decrease vehicle speed.

I really like how the cruise works. Mine is always on. I see no reason to turn the system off. Our Honda Pilot has similar button but the system is automatically turned off every time the car is turned off. So I always have to first turn it on and then set it. Not a biggy, but I prefer the Stingray way. I also like that each quick push changes the set speed by 1 MPH. So when I am running along at 60 and see the limit has dropped to 50, I hit the minus button 10 times. No screwing around letting the speed drop and then resetting it.
Run it in to a Chevrolet dealer. I gotta be honest with you here.......the C7 cruise control isn't the most user friendly cruise control to operate. Especially if you don't try and use it but every few months. It’s not user friendly. Too complicated to remember all the steps in the correct sequence.👎
That said, once engaged it works perfectly in my C7. The M7 is one reason I don't and won't try to use it very much. That, and I only use my Corvette on very limited City street driving only. Damn little HWY.

I really love how the cruise resumes in the M7 even when you change gears.
Me too. I cruise at 75 in the interstate but we have a lot of hills and I don't like running uphill in 7th at 75. It can't quite maintain the 75 in 7th on some of them. So I set the cruise,
set the rev match to on, and go to 6th up hill and back to 7th at the top. I find that if I hit 6th just before the bottom it keeps the speed perfect at 75.

I purchased a C7 about a month ago and it took me a while to figure it out too. I had to drive the vehicle 550 miles to get it home and I finally figured it out without the owners manual. The cruise control is quite different than most vehicles. Once I grew accustomed to using it I really like the way it works.
Hmmmm... reading these replies what could be so hard to engage the cruise control. My 2000 Deville that is 23 years old works the exact same way. Activate the cruise by hitting the on button, and then hit set to engage it when you get to the speed you want. What is so hard. Not intuitive? it's made for a 3 year old.
