A week or so ago I set up seat positions 1 and 2 for my wife and me.
If the seat is in my position (#1) and I open the door with her fob, the seat moves to her position. Perfect.
If the seat is in her position (#2) and I open the door with my fob, the seat remains in her position. No good.
The manual says:
RKE transmitters are not labeled
with a number. If your memory seat
position is stored to "1" or "2" but
this position is not automatically
recalling, then change the stored
position or switch RKE transmitters
with the other driver.
Am I to understand that the fobs will recall only one of the two stored settings? Or have I not set up the system correctly?
You have probably set the exit position to your wife's position. BTW, the fob doesn't store anything. The car does.
Thanks, but I don't think that's the case. Pushing button 1 on the door moves the seat all the way back to my position. Pushing button 2 on the door moves the seat forward to her position. Pushing the exit button on the door moves the seat all the way back, and moves the steering wheel all the way up while pulling it in all the way to the dashboard.

I believe it's based on which FOB the car sees first. Do the same experiment but keep one fob away from the car in the house. I have noticed that when my wife and I are together and she has her fob, if she is near or gets in the car first, the driver seat moves to her position (#2) since the car sensed her FOB (#2) first, even though I have #1 with me as well. I have to move it to #1 but it always goes to #1 when I am travelling by myself because the car hasn't seen her FOB.
I started with the car locked and the seat in my position. I opened the door with her fob, and it moved to her position.
I closed the door, took her fob back inside, and went back out and used my fob to open the door. Seat stayed in her position.
I'm doing something wrong, but I can't tell what...
I had a similar issue after a FOB was lost/replaced by the dealer when I bought it and had to reprogram both FOBs using the instructions within this forum and since then zero issues. It's time-consuming but easy and should take care of the issue you are seeing. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-and-rke.html
When you get in the car with your fob and start the car, is it staying in her position as well, or just when you are unlocking? When you get in the car and start it what does the display say on which driver is in the car? Not sure how long you have had the FOB or car, but if at some point a FOB was lost/added and it's saying driver 3 or more on the display when you start the car, you have to go through the process for the car to assign FOB 1 and FOB 2, those are the only FOB numbers that will align with the 2 seat positions.

I've had similar problems wiht my C7. Recently pushing the 1 position did absolutely nothing. Reset positions and it began working again. For a week I only had one fob, so that wasn't the isue.

Thx again. The seat doesn't move from her position when I enter and start it with my fob. However, it did move to the exit position when I shut the car off.

I'll try the re-programming to see what happens.
Appreciate your suggestions.
When you get in the car and start it what does the main display say on which driver is in the car? HA! You edited your post, adding more info, just as I was replying!
So - "When you get in the car and start it what does the display say on which driver is in the car?" I didn't know the car would tell me this. Where do I look for that info?

LOL timing is everything! :-)
In the DIC, it will show up at the bottom of the center display showing which driver's FOB is recognized. It's briefly listed there, try it with both, leaving one in the house, and it should change based on which FOB is in the car when started.
I'm not seeing any driver/FOB ID info... Ours is a 2015; does the year matter?
Year shouldn't matter, but I have been wrong before. I had a FOB that was replaced (unbeknownst to me) and when I got it the DIC showed Driver 3. I could never get the seat to work properly and that's because I had FOB 3 which is good for all other functions except seat recall. I will see if I can get a picture of it showing Driver 2 with my wife's FOB later when I get home unless another great member here beats me to it.
But, sounds like the reprogram is the way to go regardless will let you assign FOB 1 and FOB 2 for the proper functions of seat recall.
Here are the pics from the DIC when I have my fob #1 in the car and start it up and moves to seat memory 1. When I shut down, and move to her fob #2, second pic is displayed and moves to seat memory 2. This was after I ran through the RKE FOB programming listed in the link above. I had issues with it before because the FOB I had showed ' You are Driver 3 for Memory Features' until I reprogrammed. There are only 2 driver for the seat memory. If it shows Driver 3 for one of the fobs, it's time to program.
With FOB #1 in the vehicle With FOB #2 in the vehicle
Larry,
The last (3) cars I've bought, including the C7 Corvette and two Mercedes-Benz, have memory seat positioning that I've yet to be able to get to memorying right.😜 If you can figure them out to work as set, you're a better man than I!
Looked, but couldn't locate that message. Maybe not available on 2015s?
That is possible, mine is 2017. The programming methods will be the same on all C7s though, that is the best course to get this in alignment with the FOBs and memory.
It's a stupid system that doesn't work very well. I get in the car and just hold the "1" button to get my seat into position, because to make it happen automatically requires the parking brake, brake pedal, and some other stupid voodoo. Thank a lawyer for that (probably).
Most of the time my seat moves back and the steering column goes up when I shut the engine off and open my door ... but not always.
One of the most annoying things about the car ... but I still love it and can live with it.
