Default Question on Soler Throttle controller

Recently installed this and had a couple questions:

1 - has anyone run the control screen (for non Bluetooth) into the center console? I want it somewhere accessible without sticking it onto the dash. For those that have - any issues with running the cable under the drivers floormat and up next to the seat? Just concerned that the movement of the seat could tug on the wire and tear it.

2 - where did folks mount the unit itself? I found the most secure location to be jammed way down low, basically at the very base of the gas pedal. My only concern here is that if getting into the car with wet shoes, some water could get onto the unit. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I have the bluetooth model as I did not want the unit visible. I mounted mine under dash above pedal area

I placed the TB control panel (it’s really fairly small) high up on the driver’s kick panel. It is not visible nor is it accessible while driving; but I have found I don’t need to adjust while driving. It’s easy to adjust while parked and sitting with the driver’s door open and my feet on the pavement.

I have the Bluetooth version of the controller on my car, but I chose to run the wire under the carpet on the side of the console. I attached the control panel to the carpeting by installing a piece of Velcro to the back of the panel - easily stays put and positioned right can be seen from the driver’s seat. I haven’t tried to change the settings when driving - so if that is something you would do, there are better, more accessible places to mount the panel.

I also have the Bluetooth version but I hid the entire unit, wires and all in a pocket behind the carpet.

I have the non-bluetooth version. I have the controller in my armrest with the wire ran under the trimpiece of the center console. Small hole inside the armrest and no issues. Looks like this (not my car):

looks like a great setup. Have you noticed any additional noise or heat as a result of the hole in the center console?

also how did you hide the plug that goes into the screen? Mine is on the side - is yours in the back?

On a side note, to

To me the Injen model looks more sleek. Ran under dash. I had one on my Camaro, now on this since I have owned it. 35K miles. Works perfectly. I set it and usually dont mess with mine. I have bumped it up a few times.

The cord still plugs in from the side. It loops under the holder and has a groove for it to follow as it wraps around the side and plugs in. I haven’t noticed any noise or hear. The hole is only 3/8” or smaller. Just enough to get the plug through.

I mounted mine in the center console. Routed wire through counsel under dash behind carpet. There was a thread on this along time ago with pictures. It came out awesome! Now if you can just find that thread.

Thanks for all the info!

does anyone have any pictures of where they installed the “black box” itself (not the controller) near the gas pedal? Currently I have mine jammed in right next to the base of the pedal, but I worry a big enough bump could dislodge it

I wish the wires from the gas pedal to the back box were a little longer, seems there are very limited places you can put it where it won’t move or interfere with pedal travel

I put mine be behind the carpet by the pedal as well. You can call Mike from Soler and he can give you one with the wires a little longer or an extension can’t remember Thats what he did for me when I got mine a couple years ago. Your right the wires are very tight there gives you a little more room 👍

this is what i did after seeing what others did.
after unbolting the gas pedal i could see much better in that area and there is a hole in that carpet so i tucked most of it under there.
so the control screen modified that usb area to get the cable through, i did this when i has the console area out during my shifter install.
its pretty much sight unseen now.

I believe with the Bluetooth version of the controller you don’t even need to plug the display/control box in for it to function, you just change your settings from the App.

I installed mine under the center arm rest. Ran the wire under the leather trim by the right leg. No holes needed. Wish Soler was out when I bought the Vitesse. The screen is going wonky. But it works and I dont change the setting.

That’s a nice install. how did you get the wire under the leather trim? Did you have to remove it?

Yes. Used a plastic trim tool to pop it off. Very easy. Let us know how it goes.
