Default Transparent color code

Is there a color code for the transparent top? The outside on the side has a scratch and I was thinking of touching it up. Also is it all the same color middle where the window is and the sides. Thanks

AFAIK, the "normal" transparent top has no paint on the outside, just a little black/dark gray on the inside.
If you have the option where the edges of the transparent top are painted body color (that's what your photo looks like but I'm not sure), presumably that's the same color as the rest of the car.
Perhaps a photo would help everyone...

You're only about 10 miles from me, so we could do a comparison if you need. But our car is Long Brach Red (aka as "maroon"), so not a perfect match. And the edges of our top are not painted.

Thank you for the reply. I just picked up a transparent top different top then my picture and it has some scratches along the outer edge. I really didn’t want to have to sand it down and repaint & re clear it. I thought maybe there was touch up or something GM had. I can use a black sharpie I guess. I polished some of it out, but I can still see it. Here’s a picture before I polished it out. It doesn’t look this bad anymore. I’m thinking of wrapping the side rails the body color. Just not 100% sure yet what I’m going to do thanks

I too have used a black Sharpie to cover the "white" lines on the outside of a scratched transparent top. I needed to renew it occasionally, but otherwise worked well.

Some folks have said that the outside of the transparent top has an invisible protective coating that is removed by polishing, and the exposed area will eventually have a color change or start to craze. I've never polished mine, so have no personal experience. The area that you polished on yours looks to be concealed from the inside by the edge framing. If it starts to look bad, then paint or wrap to match the rest of your car and you're golden.

If worst comes to worst, there is a company that will replace the transparent plastic with new transparent, not cheap but cheaper than a new top that's out of production anyway. And they are in Illinois, so you could borrow a top from someone to use while you drive back & forth, avoid shipping charges and the dangers of damage.

Best of luck!

I believe that it's Melrose T-top you're talking about. Bought my Transparent top from them. Good folks...

Hi Gearhead Jim I started a new thread asking how do I get rid of rainbows on the outside of the transparent top. Any suggestions. Not how to clean, but how to remove those rainbows. They won’t come out
