So I have a a 2015 stingray that I applied corvette mods hash marks to back when I purchased the car. They held up terribly. Im removing them and want some suggestions on process. To remove as they are old dried out faded and baked in although my car is garage kept..
i figured I would heat with heat gun and scrape with plastic scrapper then ISO…..any suggestions?
Yep, no garage/workshop should be without 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner. The cleaner with a million purposes. I keep it both liquid and spray versions.
Funny...I used to love the hash marks on the fender. Over the last few years, they just started to seem silly to me. I think I'd remove them even if they weren't looking bad. Except for on a C65 or something like that.
An "Advanced search" across the C7 sections here will find a lot of stripe and such removal threads. The biggest issue is care and patience, especially with older applications. Any adhesive remover and such you opt for (apart from "greasy" stuff like Goo-Gone) try on an inconspicuous area first just to be safe... there's good reason why I suggest this; I've a friend who could tell you the ugly details. All the best!
