On my way to Santa Cruz , going through San Jose i unfortunately had to drive through a terrible dipped road and well… you can see the splitter is cracked (Stock Ride Height , Zr1 Bumper splitter)
What options do i have to fix this ? Or should i duct tape it until it gets fully destroyed and replace it ? Is there any splitters on the market that fit the ZR1 Bumper swap bumper ?
Have you tried any salvage yards that specialize in Corvettes? Living up there, I would check that out. I would also check with a good body shop that might be able to do a repair, to hold you over until you find the part.

Chances of finding a ZR1 bumper kit splitter in tact at a salvage yard sounds almost impossible, i contacted my trusted body shop. Worst comes to worst ill just put some black duct tape and tell myself its not there.
That could be repaired, but balance repairs against purchasing a replacement there are alternatives from companies other than GM . I know ACS sells the front splitter by itself. You could go DIY route once you got it off car, you would have to bond it and reinforce it underneath, fill & sand it all down and repaint it .. I know it was just last year you put that ZR1 unit on after the bumper got trashed.. that sux

First part I lost off my 06 zo6 was the skinny front air splitter. Cant find any salvaged for obvious reasons. A few months later I was using a floor jack to have a look at an exhaust leak and land the front wheels on ramps to fix it. Peeked under the car and found the leak while it was just on the jack, with both right side wheels off the ground. I slipped from under the car and didnt even make it five feet to the first ramp when I heard a sickenimg "crunch" sound. Turned to see the car had slid to the right, on oil spilt buy cats I soon discovered. Splintered a small corner of the door and left front febder lowest to the ground thankfully. But I was pissed, for a couple seconds. Until I realized that I was within about five seconds from gone and having my 13 yo son return home from school to be the first person to discover a horrific accident!
I sanded down the spots to nearly evenly flat, masked them off and got duplicolor matched rattlecan touch up at Oreilly Auto and minimized the insult. And discovered that when your driving such a car, small flaws disappear to the casual observer! Be patient and find a deal on a partout sale!
Oh and FWIW, I immediately baught myself an open box priced 7500lb max QuickJack lift. BEST TOOL IVE EVER OWNED!!! S O L I D!!!
Peace
Only 19, once upon a time.... Good for you. It hurts to damage the Corvettes.
I suggest looking into after-market. You can go with black, carbon-fiber, or have the piece paint-matched.
Put the duct-tape for now so the crack doesn't spread. Maybe you can put it only on the underside?
Good luck. I would help you replace it if I lived near you,. Maybe someone nearby will offer to help.

That is one heck of a crack. If you have some skills working with fiberglass, you might be able to get it looking decent again. But first I would check with a trusted body shop and get an opinion on what it would take, if even feasible, to have them repair it for you.
It just could be that a replacement piece would turn out cheaper.

i bought some bondo to fill it in. For now tho its duck taped . Will post results when i can
I'm on my 3rd splitter on a '17 GS. 50,000 highway work miles, If you drive a lot it WILL happen again. I've spent $675-$1,250 for replacements so far (depending on Vendor). I'd keep it on until you trade or sell.
That's why the C8 has a 2+/- inch height adjustment, with a memory so if you drive up to the same curb, speed bump etc. You'd be safe. My Benz with the forethought of real road crap push a button no problemo.
