What is the consensus of
Continental extreme Sport tires on my 2016 ZO6 3LZ M7.
Not a track racer but get on it once in awhile.
Looking for quieter smoother ride
I'm a big fan of Michelin and I have been much of my adult life. When I worked in tire stores as a kid, the Michelins always mounted easier and consistently required a lot less weight for balance than many other name brands.
But owning a Mercedes, (wifes' car) I found from the local dealership that they prefer Continentals over Michelins. The service manager told me they just ride smoother and provide the same performance as the Michelins.
So when it came time to change the tires on the Z51, I moved to Continental. I can't tell you what to expect to find for the Z06. But I can say moving from Michelin 'summer only' tires to Continental Extreme Contact 'all season' tires made a big difference in the ride, for a car that spends all of it's time on the street.

You've probably already figured out that there aren't many tire choices in the OEM C7 GS/Z06 sizes.
The Continental ExtremeContact Sport (summer) and the Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus (all season) are both non-run-flats. They will be your quietest, smoothest, and most comfortable options.
The OEM Michelin Pilot Super Sport (summer) and Pilot Sport All Season 4 are both run-flats. They will be slightly more performance-oriented than the Continental options, but they will also ride significantly more firm. I recently had the AS4 installed on my Z06. Being new, they do ride very smoothly & quietly. And they don't turn into rocks when the temps dip below 40 degrees, like the Super Sports do. But, being all season tires, they only have about 75% (my estimate) of the grip that the Super Sports had.

I have Michelin A/S 3+ ZP tires on my C7. Very good tire from what I can tell, but not sure if they make the new A/S 4+ ZPs in Z06 sizes.
I just put a set of the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus tires on my 2015 Impala. Time will tell how well I like them and yes I know an Impala is no where close to being a Vette. But Continental seems to get good reviews here on the forum.
Been reading about the tires on your impala. I think I like them. I live in south Florida. In Naples. We get horrendous rain down pours in the rainy season. My ZO6 will likely never see the track so I might as well enjoy the power on tap from 650/650 HP/ Torq.
Thanks for the response
I'm thinking about doing the same thing. My car is not tracked. Street driven only. Rarely sees full throttle. It just makes sense to enjoy the ride and sell the michelin ZP's since they only got 9K miles on them.
I have continental extreme sport on my z06 and they work great. They actually hook better on hard acceleration than the super sports did as well. Not to mention riding worlds better. Give them a shot, you wont be disappointed.
I did finally order them ( conti exteme contact Sports) from TireRack and having them installed Tuesday. I hope they work out well.
They seem to be a very good cross between them and Michelin but a bit less expensive
Nice looking tire but I didn’t want Runflats this time. On my base C6 I ran Firestone and liked them so much I put on the second set. 117,000+ miles when I traded it for the ZO6
