Lots of people use them and they work as intended. I don't use one and just Rev the car to 1500rpm or more before shifting from 1st to 2nd and the feature does not engage.
I have an M7 and had no idea the car had that feature. I don't imagine I'd use it though, just like I also don't use the rev match feature and prefer to blip the throttle myself (though if I ever take my car to a track, maybe I will).

huh? I think your thinking of something else? I use NLS whenever I’m looking for a best time. Keep the gas pedal to the floor and don’t lift off….press in clutch at 6300 rpm and slam next gear. Like music to the ears.

Interesting read, though I'm left wondering what the "different for each engine application, and even within an application" “Enable” and “Target” RPMs are...?

I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure my brain would allow me to keep the right foot on the gas while using the clutch.
Does anyone have any tips on how to practice this? I suppose practicing the sequence with the car off would be a way.
Does anyone know the Engage and Target RPMs? For those who are learning (as am I), the Engage RPM is the engine speed at which NLS is engaged, or ready to use. The Target RPM seems to be the RPM the engine then goes to.
I think the Engage RPM is 5000, meaning after you pass 5k rpm at WOT, the system is ready to go. Then, if you push in the clutch and engage a shift, the engine will rev to the Target RPM. Is that 6300? Who knows the actual facts on this?
