I need to apply the two small self-adhesive plastic velcro strips to the inside of my windshield in order to mount my EZPass. Is there any special coating on the inside of the glass that I should be aware of that might cause an issue with adhesion? I'm guessing not, but want to check with the group here cuz y'all know more than me.
I've never mounted mine. It stays behind the screen or in the glovebox and always goes off. Found out by accident that this works.
I keep it oriented the same direction as it would be if attached to the W/S, though it slides around somewhat behind the screen.
If you have the painted top on your car, some people have said that the carbon fiber in the top will block signals to the EZ Pass in the center armrest console and I suppose might have some effect even behind the center screen. We have the Lexan transparent top and our IPass works in either location.
Also, some states will ticket you if the EZPass is not visible, they apparently got tired of chasing down scofflaws.

I painted my EZ Pass Black when we used it on our C5. Lasted through several C6s and 2 C7s.
Just replaced after 10 years.
Also, got the Black VHB 3M tape from Home Depot. Hides the mounting and Pass in the sun shaded part of the WS.
I never attached my EZ pass in the Corvette. Was told on the phone that the cameras will pick up my license plate number and their system will know I have the pass and will be charged the EZ pass amount. Works just like I was told. I just recently realized I don’t even have the pass sticker any longer, misplaced it somehow.

There is no coating on the windshield, we use a similar transponder here but it looks ugly when put on the C7's windshield because it does not have the blue lip at the top like the C6.
So I just keep mine in the glove box and it goes off every time I pass through the toll sensors.

Bingo! Winner winner chicken dinner. Been doing it this way for as long as I can remember. I don't even have it in the car. Or any of my cars for that matter. Every plate number is registered on the ez-pass account.
