Windshield Problems
I recently had my 2015 Z06 windshield replaced and it seems there is a problem with getting it properly cleaned. I have tried to clean it several times but it is covered in greasy smears. I even tried 409 which seemed to make it even worse. It looks fine in the shade and you can see though it well but in the sunlight its completely smeary. Yuk! The gasket around the windshield was also replaced and I suspect when they put the glass in they may have used silicone grease on the gasket. I know it was a lot of work getting the old one out and the new one in because I saw them working on it.
Any thoughts on cleaning grease, particularly silicone grease, off of glass?

Possibly a mild mineral spirits or alcohol on a microfiber.. I would be careful with goo gone type stuff.. seen it wreak havoc with some materials.

I would call the installer and notify them of the problem and request they send someone out to clean it up.
Adam's Glass Cleaner does a good job on sea spray. Maybe, it will work.

^ I agree. The shop that installed the windshield should have something that can clean up whatever is on the glass.

Normal cleaner for glass probably won't pull that residue, but contacting installer is a good idea to make them fix it..

Thanks everybody. I think the idea of calling the installer and asking how to fix it is a good plan.

...and when they get there, give them a gallon of pure white vinegar and then cover your dash. If that doesn't cut it nothing will! Good luck!
