Any of you guys have issues with Borla exhaust baffles breaking? This will be my third borla exhaust in 1.5 years that the baffles have blown. I have headers and mid pipe. Had the car tuned with everything on it. Called Borla and they say it could probably be the tune that is causing the baffles to break. I call BS, they will be sending another set of mufflers but I cannot figure out how the baffles keep breaking!
For me (the uninformed) how do you know the baffles are breaking? I'm headers, x-pipe and tuned and I really havent noticed anything but you have my interest peaked. I have had my ATAK system on for almost 3 years now (1 yr tuned).
Thanks for any info and good luck!

I also would like to know more. Assume you have some rattle that is obvious while driving? Good luck getting it sorted!
Each time the baffles have blown, I have had serious rattling and almost a “twang” sound coming from the rear of the pipes while driving, almost non existent when idles, however. Bring it to the dealer and it’s the baffles breaking inside, According to the corvette tech. One of the sets of mufflers actually had external cracking. Again, this will be my third set of ATAK mufflers within 1.5 years and each time it’s the same issue. Very frustrating to find out what is causing the baffles to keep breaking. Some have said too much heat and/or back pressure? Borla thinks it has something to do with the tune I had done. I’m starting to wonder if they have a bad batch of ATAK mufflers going out? No idea!! Borla sending me another set of mufflers
I had the same issue with Corsa … must be quality control in welding & assembly. Good luck, you might ask if the replacement mufflers are in the same batch (serial number) as the last set.
I have the borla atak w headers. But the mufflers only have about 300 miles on them. I will say. The fit of borla Sucks. Nothing lined up properly. Tons of adjusting. I’ll never buy borla again.
I’ve had the Borla ATAK on a Camaro SS (sold now) and loved it. I installed it myself and it fit great. Borla has a reputation for good quality and high cost. Is it possible you had a backfire episode that blew the baffles? If you had a tune and it runs rich, exhaust mini explosions are possible. Just asking…
