I have a 2016 Z51 Stingray Convertible and the brake dust is killing me, my car is White and after driving it is black. What can you recommend for pad replacement that gets rid of the brake dust.
I went with the Power Stop Z-23 on my 2017 Z-51. I also went with their rotors as my stock rotors had some significant wear, but you can keep your stock rotors with either the Z23 or Z26.

My Powerdtops, no discoloring issues on mine, theses photos were taken in 2019. I believe that discoloring problem was taken care of some years ago. Ran VIR 3 times, brakes performed just as well as OEMs. After 60K on odometer, still running with them.
+1 for Carbotech 1521s! This was the first mod that I did because the brake dust was killing me. I have lots of miles on them now and I don’t regret the decision. Note that these are NOT for track use. I have however, used them for spirited driving on twisty roads without issues.
I switched OEM pads for Powerstop. About $150 for all four pads. Rotors are fine and the dust is almost gone. Also use Armorall Outlast. A dust eliminator. Haven't washed my black wheels in two months and I HATE brake dust! (Sold the OEM pads with 5k miles on them for $75 on Craigslist!)
Wrecker3 - Is your Stingray a Z51 or a base model? It looks like you upgraded with the Powerstop Z26 upgrade kit? I'm planning on upgrading my base Stingray brakes with the Z26 kit and wanted to get your opinion on it. I will be able to keep my existing rear calipers, but will have to purchase the Z51 front calipers for the upgrade. Was wondering if you were in the same boat. Thanks.

I have a 2016 Z51 M7 Stingray with J55 brakes and the Power Stop pads turned my stock GM rotors BROWN. After talking with a tech at Power Stop about the problem (Too Much Copper in them) he sent me Pads and Rotors back in 2017 and i never put them on. I was able to remove the brown stains from the stock GM rotors and now use Carbotect Pads. This is a know problem and have photos from other members cars. Power Stop is made in China Junk !!!
I've been using Power Stop Z26 for over 2yrs. I also Auto-X and they are equal to OEM without the brake dust. Very , you'll be glad you made the change.

The best solution is to trade into a Long Beach Red C7. The reddish-brown brake dust from our stock Z51 pads is a perfect match for the color of our car. It even makes the tires match the paint.
Wrecker3 do you still have the Z26 rotors? Would you be willing to sell? I want to replace my base rotors with larger, slotted rotors. I want the standard GM Z51 rotors, however they are over $100 a piece and I will also have to purchase two front calipers along with the pads. Let me know if if you still have them and will sell. Thanks.

ChiefBoats: nice wheels, Brand/Model# please?
Wheels are the factory '16 Z06, which I've since replaced with the much better Forgelines. Had one cracked OEM wheel, wasn't going to wait around for another. Of course, GM did not stand by those wheels, there are several hundreds of those that cracked, besides, it's easier to clean a 10 spoke wheel vs. a 20 spoke wheel.
