Default Navigation update version?

Good day everyone. I purchased the 2022 maps update for my 2016 Z06 late last year and I just got a chance to install it.

After install, I noticed when searching for a nearby grocery store that came up 2 years ago that it wasn't on the maps.

Can someone tell me how I know what version if maps I have installed and whether that matches the 2022 maps?

It isn't surprising that your Nav doesn't know about stores several years old. I have the 2022 update and it is missing things I think it should know, also.

The instructions you got with your update told you how to check if you have the current version:
Search for a POI named Domino's in Kalamazoo Mi. If it finds one at 2706 W Michigan Ave it is the current version.

The procedure for supplying map updates is slow. It is highly likely a 2022 update will not have information about locations and roads that were put in place during 2022. At a minimum, the data is probably 3 years old.

Thank you all for the feedback. Interesting that there isn't a way to compare actual version numbers. It looks like I do have the current version.

If you tap settings and then all the way at the bottom is system info, I think. It has the navigation version number in there.

The OEM maps are lagged by almost 2 years. 2022 maps have data from 2020. They're a waste of money. You have a 2016. Look into hooking your phone up so you can use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Your info will always be up to date, and it's free.

Before anyone goes into the whole data usage or cell dead zone thing, you can cache your maps at home on your wifi and it'll be available on your phone even when you have no service.

Yeah, the newest maps are definitely a year or two behind in having up to date info. As another poster mentioned, if you want more up to date GPS, use your cell phone with something like Waze.

Thank you all for your help. It does look like I have the latest version installed. I do use Android Auto for navigation but wanted to make sure the onboard navigation version was what I paid for.

After having a couple of "updates" in both my C7s and 2011 Mustang GT, the databases were woefully inadequate, to the point I only update the nav every three years.
