Has anyone else had this happen? 2017 Stingray 2LT Z51 if that matters. Fired up the car and connected my iPhone to the port in the console as normal and the phone did not connect. Ran into the house (leaving the car running) and grabbed another lightning cable still no connection. Tried my wife’s iPhone still no connection. Said oh nuts and went to lunch. When we came out the phone connected w/o any issues. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen and if this is something which is going to get worse.

Was the phone Unlocked so that you could use the accessories? Sometimes I just plug mine in not looking at the phone and while waiting for the icon in the infotainment system screen to turn green, nothing happens. Then I look at the phone and it has the message to unlock to use the accessories.
I always connect my Android phone to the port in the console because I use Android Auto frequently. At times I do experience a glitch with my Android phone connecting to my 2017 Stingray 2LT Infotainment system. I have found the following procedure to be most successful:
1 - Start the car
2 - Allow time for the Infotainment system to fully boot-up
3 – Close the console armrest lid ( this step is important for my car)
4 - Plugin my phone to the cable from the port in the console
5 – Hit the road
Last year the system got goofy and uncooperative. So I rebooted by I pulled fused number 53 in the engine bay fuse box. This year it is behaving very well. No problems.
Oh, one more thing. Whenever I open the console armrest lid, it drops my connection between my phone and the Infotainment. Weird.
Dcova, if opening your console causes a dropped connection, try a different cable and the other usb port. Sounds like a bad cable or connection.
Op - I agree with the lock / unlock issue. Android has a setting on the phone to permit Android Auto to connect to a locked phone. Don't know about Apple Carplay.

It could be the Lock Screen for sure. At one point my iPhone asked me if I trusted the device and if I wanted to be able to have it connect without unlocking. Selecting yes will allow for connection locked or unlocked.
Also FWIW on my 3rd C7 since 2014, I have always added a 1 x 4 USB hub to the USB behind the screen with a couple 64g’ and some 32g, I name them differently so they show up differently on the DIC ……
