Tow hooks were not standard equipment in the C7 except for export models. So no, you should not have they with your car - however, you should have the receivers for the hooks already on the car, All you should need to buy is the hooks.

So should I get a set. They do look to hard to install.
In my opinion, if you don't track your car, you won't need them as they're required equipment for track towing in case. Save your money as they'll cost you over $100 for the pair. Lots of people install them strictly for looks-sort of the same as the Mopar owners who leave the front yellow spoiler protectors on-strictly for looks. You'd be better off investing a in a long under car tow strap with the hooks that install into the holes under the frame where you insert the lifting pucks. If you really must have a set of tow hooks, I have a pair that I bought and never used-still in the original boxes that I'm willing to sell you. I took my own advice and purchased the tow strap instead.

If you lose control and end up in a ditch, this is an agricultural area with a lot of shallow water canal ditches along the side of the road, it would probably be nice to have a tow hook.
If you are going to need a flatbed, ir would probably be nice to have the straps.
Sidenote: I did have to use the one that GM put in my Camaro ZL1. Sidewall puncture that necessitated a flatbed tow. Made it easy for the wrecker driver. I'd guess a tow hook on the Corvette would work as well.
I have gone into the slippery pea gravel just on edge of track... you cannot move without a little help. The tow hooks will allow that. The straps are great for loading, but if your off track, there is no clearance to get straps on. They are for a little help, not for major help...
People keep talking about hooks, but the GM C7 hook we keep in our Z51 will work on either the front or the back.
If your hook has a long enough shank, like the GM, then just one should be sufficient. Unless you want to use your 'vette in a tug-of-war between tow trucks.
The tow hooks are only to be used if you plan on tracking your Z51 IMO. I take mine off before I leave the track.
Most flatbed drivers have some chains or straps in their box that use the mounting holes in the frame rails, Though most will try to just drop a steel hook onto your lower control arms to save time. You need to be there to stop them from doing that.
If you are truly concerned about incidental damage to your car by all means get yourself a proper strap and keep it in the back.
