Being mechanically challenged, I picked the Type S wireless solar powered backup license plate camera that WiFis to my iPhone. Bought it from their website for $129.99 with free shipping. Two included screws were all I needed to install the camera. I successfully downloaded the Type S Drive app and synced it to the camera. Siri opens the app for me and I push three menu buttons. Within 10 seconds I have the camera live feed to my iPhone. Now I have to live with it to see how well it works. My 2014 base model doesn’t have a forward parking camera. Other solutions on the forum required hardwire to the battery and installing a monitor. Also they could run me thousands to have installed.
I would like to put a front camera on my 2014 if I could do it easy and affordable. If I have to do it through an iphone, thats fine with me.
Navtool. I've had it for 6 years and it is working quite well. Around $450 or so, not sure what the price is now. It puts the camera video on the NAV screen and allows you to stream from your iPhone to the NAV screen. My camera I used croaked about 3 months ago and I replaced the camera for about $35. Hard part is being 78 and trying to twist and bend to run the cable inside of the car. I suffered, but I got it done by myself.

Priced the NAVTool at $666. Camera would add to that. Estimated install at three hours for camera and at least an hour to add NAVTool. I think it is a superior solution. I don’t have the confidence to make such a major modification. Even if my solution fails. It was only $129.99 and two screws. The next possibility is the curb alert system. The NAVTool is the ultimate solution.
I had something like that with my Genesis Coupe, went through the iPhone. After a while just got to be to much of a pain making sure the app is running before parking or using it.

That would be the major problem for me also. Plus waiting 10 seconds for everything to connect before I could use it would be the deal breaker for me. But it is easy for me to say because my GS has the front cameras already.
I don’t own or operate a GoPro, but the guy at Best Buy says that the power supply for a GoPro is a rechargeable battery. Does the app turn on the camera or is it on all the time? Best Buy said that I would have to recharge the battery every night.
I use a cheap Garmin GPS with their camera. About $150 for everything, no real installation. Camera comes with a mounting plate that goes behind the tag. Wifi goes to the Garmin in the car. I like to use the Garmin for nav and leave audio on my radio.
Well, it does solve the problem but that is a very expensive front camera doing it that way. The '14 didn't have a camera. I have a '14. I have a camera for less than $500.

I'm doing this, seems the cheapest without buying Amazon crap that may or may not work in a month. The bc 30 camera kit is 85 dollars and a cheap garmin GPS another 60 bucks. Wire the wifi sending unit to the fuse box mount the camera and done. Sucks that it won't work on the head unit but the navtool is expensive and way more involved Install. I will never use the garmin GPS I use android auto. So now I have to figure where to put the garmin so it's out of the way but accessible.
You would think that would be the best spot. I have heard horror stories of things getting stuck behind it. If you use it to much it breaks a connection and your info screen doesn't work. So that's out or me. I really only need it when head in parking and there is a cement curb stop. Here in FL it seems every parking spot has one.
I wouldn't go to the trouble. Just know where, and what you are moving in on and stop accordingly. I have two C7s with a combination of over 210,000 miles on them and don't even use the cameras in front. In fact my Stingray doesn't even have the camera in front. I have never even touched anything in front. Not trying to be sanctimonious, or anything like that, but IMO doing nothing is the best solution. Just be careful.
