Bought a C7 Grandsport a few weeks ago. The other night I took if out for a right and one of my friends was following me and said my right tail light was not working. Brake lights and turn signals worked fine. Got up the next morning and tried it out and everything was working perfectly. Drove it again last night and again the tail
light was off. Got up this morning and again it was working fine. Covered the light sensor on the dash and all lights came on perfectly. Drove it all over town and they stayed on. Anyone have any ideas before I tear the bumper off?
The taillights have a logic module in them that could be going bad or maybe the electrical connections to the module are loose/corroded. Other than gaining access to the backside of the light it should be easy to check the electrical connection.
As can be seen by the schematic if the left side light and side markers are working properly the only thing left is the logic module or the wiring connections to it. Connector X420 Pins 2 and 3. The Ground Circuit 1850 that is at Connector X420 Pin 3 could be intermittent where it splices with another portion of 1850 before ground point G404.
