buy it sand it and spray it with 2x high gloss clear. the matte is a bit of a disappointment in the interior
Not to my eyes as I think the Matte finish looks like it belongs in a sports car and the glossy finish looks better in a Cadillac. I even asked Pat at American Hydrocarbon to duplicate the C7 CF matte finish for my C5 center console and double din bezel.

There's a good step by step video on this forum for changing the dash; I used that to swap mine. Just take your time and pad areas so as not to scratch up things.

I guess it's great GM gives us choices.
yeah im a carbon fiber junkie. I had a audi ttrs I did the entire interior in forged carbon. love that look but for me it has to be high gloss so I can see the fiber pattern. the matte just doesn't work for me. I have the c/f dash and comp seat bezels all in matte so one of my winter projects is to remove it all sand and paint in high gloss. then start adding more to center console ,waterfall , door items etc.
to the o/p heres a decent video to give you an idea what involved in the dash removal. be aware the pulling of the dash and the resulting pops ,snaps and sounds of clips breaking loose is not for the faint of heart!! it can be done if your careful
Not a big CF fan, but my 19 GS came with it and I really like just that one piece. Much prefer the matte finish. It is far more rare to see matte than the glossy finish found in all after market stuff whether real or not. $350 is a steal if in good shape. $1000 add on at the factory/dealer.
I was skeptical about adding CF matte to mine when ordered. While its real CF, I thought it may look fake. I think it looks great and doesnt reflect light as a bonus.
