Onstar detects starter problem
Got a notice from Onstar a couple days ago:
"Your 2016 Chevrolet Corvette detects a problem with its starter motor or connection. The starter motor enables you to start the engine. This motor may fail soon. You can drive your Chevrolet, but you may not notice any symptoms until this part fails. When it does fail, your car will not start. To avoid this happening, please schedule service with your preferred service provider as soon as possible, so they can determine if your starter motor needs replacing. Please disregard this message if your vehicle is already in for service (as this could be a false notification if the vehicle is in for service and the service being performed affects this component).Service Code SAC004"
Planning to stop by my dealer tomorrow. Recently replaced the battery. Anyone ran into this issue?

Never heard of a starter causing an engine failure.
Very weirdly worded if they mean the starter not the engine; they make it sound dire!
Not surprising if this is related to the recent battery replacement.

... where did you see that it's saying the engine?
the starter motor can certainly fail. they can certainly start on fire, especially if oil has leaked onto them.
agreed that a battery replacement could trigger this.
