My better half's C-7 is now showing part of the rear license plate when the back-up camera comes on. She swears it never did that before and I see no way that the camera is adjustable. So what is the consensus on plate vs no plate showing up on the dash cam? Thanks a lot, Dave
To be more specific, you can see the top inch or so of the plate, you cannot read the plate number, but it is in the foreground? of the total picture on the dash cam. Almost like the camera was "moved" towards the front of the car. Very weird because we don't remember this until we just spent two weeks in the car on a trip. Thanks
I am going to suggest that your C7 is 5-7years old, maybe in a hot climate, maybe in the sun often, and that the plastic rear fascia is sagging/droping downward thereby putting more of a downward angle on the camera. I am guessing the camera is only mounted to plastic and doesn't have any metal bracing.
Sorry if it sounds like a conspiracy theory. I claim old-age and just another senior moment.
Best wishes,
Ron
I can see some of the plate but I don't pay attention to it, busy looking for stupid drivers that can't see me trying to back out of a parking space to show some courtesy.
Okay, so some do and some don't. The plastic sag theory is plausible, I'll have to do some experimenting without getting run over !!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! Thanks!
My 19 sees it too. I think it is a good thing. If the camera were aimed a little higher so you didn't see the plate there would also be some of the road, parking lot, driveway not seen. Could possibly be a kid or a dog or a toy that would get run over.
I do see the plate on my '19
Also the piece of tape on the garage floor so I know I'm in far enuff when I back in
