Default How Long!?

Dealer has had my car 2016 Z51 Vert for about a month now. Turns out that it is the problem associated with TSB 17469. Now they are telling me that a part (tank) is
on national backorder. Is anyone else going through this. I've already missed the best time of the year to ride topless, and really tired of the sedan loaner.

It took dealership 2 months to get a front fascia, grill and carbon fiber splitter to repair my car.

Very long time to wait, but they did an amazing job so I guess it was worth it.

Hang in there, and keep calling them to keep them focused on your car.

Is it drivable? If so, give it back and call me when the part comes in.

While not an ideal solution, some guys are getting used parts from the salvage yard or ebay.

This may be your reality. Or wait.

Good luck

Parts are still in short supply due to the Pandemic and the short supply combined with higher demand is one of the main drivers of inflation. I waited ~4 months from the time I received a recall notice on my Terrain Headlights until the two small appliques were delivered to the dealer.

That is a long time to have the car at the dealership. Hope the part you need comes in soon and the car can get back on the road.

Yep, i'm going through it also. Dealer has had my car just short of 5 weeks. I also missed the best weather we've had all year due to this. No word at all on an ETA. I dont even have a loaner.
This is my SECOND time with a gas leak problem. Dealer had my car 6 weeks back in 2020 when it only had 1400 miles on it.
I'll give it this last chance but if it develops another leak in the future i'll be trading it in for something else as soon as possible.

Our 2001 had a leaking rear axle boot back in 2002. The boot was on back order and no ETA.
A good dealership replaced the entire half-shaft under warranty, just to get a new boot.

We've had similar, but less aggravating, issues on our more recent Corvettes.
A few days should be no big deal, but long waits are not uncommon even without Covid.
Not sure if GM is better or worse than other companies.

used parts arnt a bad idea, but if this is warranty related i highly doubt they would or could use it.

Sorry to read, but nothing new. C8's are certainly in no better shape.

When i found out the parts were on national backorder i went and got my car from the dealer. Luckily they hadnt torn it down yet. I had to clean a months worth of dirt off of it from it sitting in the dealers driveway all those weeks. I told them when the part comes in to call me and I'll bring it back.
GM customer rep told me via email to expect the part in late December but it could be delayed.
I just got back from a vacation in the mountains in Arkansas and I let GM know how unhappy I was that we had to take our 2014 Honda instesd of our 2019 Corvette!

Unfortunately, the car is torn down sitting on a lift. Wasn't drivable as fuel fumes had begun to be overpowering inside the car. I guess I need to start blowing up the phone lines.

GM is too worried about cranking out their new supercar than to support the people who've already given up their money.
it's already happening to the C8 owners and will be worse for them when the C9 comes out.
