Default Getting my first corvette

Hello vette folks. I am in NJ and about to buy a corvette for the second time since 1994. I am leaning toward a GS 2017 with 2,646 miles on it, yes it has under 3k miles. It is Laguna Beach with Spiced Red Interior 3LT. They are asking 67k for the car. Is this is good year to buy and is this worth it? Car is located at a top notch dealer in AC NJ. Car seems very clean with exception of splitter has a mark in it.

Thanks you everyone for all the input. I did purchase the car and inspected the hell out of it. I also purchased extended bumper to bumper for 6 years 75k and I purchased the tire and wheel plan. Dash shows no signs of delamination. I will protect it accordingly. I am grateful and excited to be a vette owner again

The 2017 GS is an excellent choice. A Corvette of such age having under 3,000 miles isn't that uncommon as these are simply 'FUN' cars for many. $67k is about par for an excellent condition '17 GS in this current inflated market.
I'd recommend inspecting 3LT dash for delamination issues closely. If it hasn't delaminated yet it most likely will not. You can search the issue on the forum as there's dozen and dozens of threads on the subject.
Good luck!

67k is a great deal for a 3LT GS. If it's your transmission of choice, jump on that before it disappears.

Hard to tell about the delamination issue from that pic. You most likely will just have to do a good visual inspection once you are with the car. Price sounds reasonable in today’s market and a 2017 GS is a good car. Plus nice find with the low mileage. Good luck with your decision.

C7 GSs are prone to wheel cracking. Given low miles, the wheels should be OK for now, but you may find issues (cracks) in the future. See if you can get the dealer (in writing) to replace cracked wheels in the future for up to a year or 10,000 miles. If a wheel does crack, have a plan to replace all the wheels with quality after-market forged or form-flow wheels. My OEM wheels on my 19 GS have bent a few times, but no cracks yet. When one does crack, I will replace the set with after market forged wheels as I plan to keep my GS for a long time. Good luck.

Specifically, this is not a good year to buy price wise. That'll be a $55,000 car most likely in a couple of years. But depending on how bad you want it. It's priced right for the current moment, but used car values are starting to slowly retract.

Take a peak around the defroster vents for the delam issue. Also have an inspection of the rims for potential cracks. Welcome. You will love it.

So what. In a normal market that price at 7 years old is great compared to what it was new. If I can get $50K for my low mile 2019 GS 2LT in a couple of years that I paid $60K for brand new I will be one extremely happy camper

The photo is taken from an angle that would hide most of the area where dash delamination typically takes place. I would strongly recommend you inspect any Corvette in person prior to purchase. This comes from someone who has purchased/owned 42 Corvettes. However, having said that, my recommendation is not based on how many Corvettes I've purchased but more on how many I've inspected and not purchased.

Price seems reasonable for the current market with perfect condition and low miles.

All model year C7 Corvette's are good, there is no "bad" year. What you do need to be aware of are the transmission, 3LT dashboards and widebody wheels.

While all model years are good, Corvette problems stem from the above. The automatic transmission is known to have issues, there are a few TSBs for it. Yours looks like an automatic so I would suggest having the triple flush done.

Second is 3LT/3LZ cars have a small chance of delamination on the dashboard more specifically around the defroster vents, so check these out before purchase.

The 3rd is that widebody wheels (Grand Sport, Z06) have an Issue where the wheels can bend or crack even under normal driving (not common but definitely possible). This isn't something you can really inspect unless you take it to a shop and pull the wheels.

If all 3 checkout and you like the car, buy it.

Love the spice red interior, not as loud as torch red.
Price is ok in this market (coming down a lil) with those low miles.
Like others said look on the inside of the wheels for cracking mainly the rears.
Good luck
