Default Replace hood stinger

I have a CF hood stinger from the factory ( Came on car) showing it’s age with a couple rock hits and some faint scratches from rub downs. What the PIA factor in pulling it, prepping for new one of some type TBD?
Thanks in advance ..

I have a 2015 Velocity Yellow I just purchased about 5 weeks ago and that is one of my upcoming projects. I have read that the hood vent needs to be removed. If you go to VetteStripes he has a complete set of instruction on how to remove it prior to installing the new strip.

The prep is easy. Pre cut stingers can be applied using the wet method. If you use a large piece of vinyl you would need knife less tape and a little more patience.

Those that have removed the vinyl decal say it comes off easily, especially if you use a heat source to warm up the decal.

The factory exposed carbon fiber hood stinger is not a decal. It is a show quality piece of carbon fiber bonded to the hood.

Hard to know if it is the exposed carbon fibre or a carbon flash decal without a picture or accurate description. CF could be either one.

The 80' temperature was back in July. It might get up to 50 today.

The decal was on the car since new, built July 30 of 2018..

Yellow 2019 GS and no difference in colour on the hood with the decal removed.
