I have a 2014 C7 Z51 and the last couple weeks when I start the car onstar says do I want to change settings like language etc. I answer no and it ends communication. The onstar account is not active. Reasons? Remedies?

October 2022, the 2G network that is used by the 2014 OnStar system is being removed from the nation-wide Cell Phone service. You no longer can use the buttons on the mirror for OnStar. There is an APP that you can download to your phone to "BE" your new OnStar communications link. It ties into your account and has the same 3 buttons on the screen of your phone that you see on the mirror of your car. You also have the ability to "share" the App with other cars at no extra charge. My wife now has OnStar on her Toyota.
This applies to the 2014 and older cars. 2015+ cars use the 3G (or higher) system which is still in use and works from the mirrors.

Thanks for the info, Elmer. I have never used OnStar on any of my cars, but just in case, it is nice to know of a workaound for the older models.
