I cannot get the driver's seat to set to my preferred settings. When I set them to what I want I do as the owner's manual says and I press the SET button then the #1 button until I get the two beeps. Problem is when I get in it next time it goes to the setting before mine. Is there a way to clear the memory completely and start fresh?
hmm, haven't futzed with the c7 much yet, and the menu systems are kind of an enigma... could it be that your key is profile #2? try setting your seat memory to the #2 button.

Try the other fob and observe the instrument cluster. It should tell you if it detects Driver 1 or Driver 2.
Either switch fobs or save settings to the other memory #.
Or if you have a short wife who seldom drives the car - set both memories for you - otherwise you may get your knees jammed into the dash. Ask me how I know...
I I press the SET button "then" the #1 button until I get the two beeps
Just to clarify,
When you say you press the SET button and THEN the #1 button, are you only pressing one button at a time ?
Or, are you pressing, and HOLDING Both buttons ?
You should be Pressing and Holding Both buttons at the same time until you hear the beeps.
Sounds like just the beginning for you. This 19 GS M7 vert was the first car I've ever owned of 10 - 12 cars owned where I actually had to sit down and read the owner's manual page by page to eliminate all the unknowns and to open the door to stuff I didn't even know existed. IMHO, The C7 manual will not make it to the New York Times best seller list, or one of Oprah's suggested novels, but if you own a C7, you owe it to yourself to read it...slowly. BTW, not an OP judgement, just a fact.
