Default emissions failure

I failed my emissions check due to their machine not being able to connect with the port under the dash. The tech said 99% of the time it's fuse related so I go on line and fuse 37 in the rear seems to be the one. I checked #37 in the rear and the front as well, both tested fine. I called my 10 year servicing dealership and they wouldn't even give me the correct fuse #. Nice ah'? No problem with indicator lights on the dash. Thoughts?
Thanks, Ron

What happened when you tried another machine or plugging in an OBDII scanner to test it?

Do you have a "Range" device that you use for your car?

I used to live in Iowa when they had required testing (they don't anymore). I remember going to a testing center once with my father in law. I remember him flipping a $20 bill to the guy testing his car, and wouldn't you know it, his car passed! Personally, I think those testing requirements are a complete joke. It they aren't, why doesn't every state do it? I live in South Dakota now,and we don't require testing.

Try the cigarette lighter. I believe that often it is the same fuse.

Good luck in passing the emissions test. Makes me glad we do not have that here.

Not sure about your year, but the DLC fuse is #29 in the underhood fuse block for my car.

Problem solved! It was a fuse, just not the one I was looking at. It was a 10 amp fuse in the rear fuse box. Thanks for the responses. Ron
