Default Fighting Hard

I am currently fighting hard to stop from doing any mods to my 2015 3LT that I have had for about two months. Was at a local show with some friends and everyone asked what I planned to do first. I told them I am trying to leave it stock. This will be very hard, because the only one that I never touched was my first back in 1968 an L72 roadster. How many out there have left their C7 stock but had to fight to not modify it?

My 2014 is bone stock. My C5 was had a custom paint stripe, decorated engine bay and custom interior.

I'm leaving my C7 Z51 completely stock. Well, except with the wheel and tire change. The original Z51 wheels and tires are in storage.

But I'm building a big block Pro-Touring C3. This keeps my hands away from the C7.

Living in SoCal and having a C7 Z51 Roadster, it is not much of a fight. 460 HP is plenty for stop and go traffic. I like to go fast on a twisty road, so, i will push it on a mountain or coastal rode. But, again, 460 HP seams to do that quite nicely!

I just had to add Z06 side skirts to my 2019 Stingray. Not only looks good, it helps from getting chipped paint. I'll never modify the engine for more power. I used to road race when I was 20. At 66, I know my limitations.

Every car I've ever owned I said the famous words "I'm gonna leave this one stock" ... I now have embraced it (see screen name). Dont think about it, just do it, plenty of time to regret it later haha.

Never had that problem. Most mods decrease the value of the car anyway.

After a complete bumper-to-bumper frame-on resto over 20 years on a '63 Stingray vert ($30K+), I am very comfortable (and older) to just enjoy the hell out of this mostly stock-mobile. Does a K & N air filter count? As stated, this 19 GS M7 vert is more than I dared to hope for in my semi-retirement. Still thrills every time I start her up!

I've only been doing cosmetic mods to the car. Z06 grille and rear fender ducts, sideskirts, and wheels. 460HP is enough when I never have a chance to use it.

Bone stock 2014 C7 base Stingray except for a Billy Boat cat back muffler. Good enough for me.

I agree, in most cases you are spending money to lose money.

All 42 of my Corvettes over the years (mostly C2 and C3 steel bumper cars) have either been completely stock or I spent substantial money and effort to bring them back to stock.
Having stated the above, of course everyone should do what results in the most enjoyment of their Corvettes.

Default One possible way to rationalize mods are.........?

Doing mods that are reversible so that it returns to stock and you may even be able to sell the parts...........

My corvette is my daily driver. I am content with 455 HP. There are threads here of people modifying their cars and it loses reliability and drivability. I have other hot rods that are my go fast cars.

Modify it with OEM parts or aesthetics (splitter, side skirts etc) that will enhance the vehicle.. its a good "start"

My 2019 GS with Z06 wheels and ACS carbon flash trim is just fine. No more adds for me.

I think I lasted about a week before I made some changes to my car. Nothing wrong with keeping the vehicle stock, but I really like to mod my car to my taste.

Huh? I give up; why fight it? Of course, I modify everything and always have.

If you're happy with the way she looks then it shouldn't be a 'fight'. When I brought my shadow gray 2LT 2019 GS home from the dealer I fel in love with her classy, not flashy look and decided to maintain her looks. While retired and not blessed with a large bank roll I've made minor mods just cuz I liked the way they looked. Don't worry about keeping her stock just worry about being happy with her looks.
